12. Caught

That day, Elysse has arrived at the palace.

At ngayon, kasalukuyan kaming nasa drawing room.

"Greetings to her highness," then she bow down her head.

"Be at ease, Elysse. Just call me sister, like you always do."

"Allright, sister." sagot nito. Umupo na ito.

"How's father and mother?" tanong ko.

"When you left, father and mother was very devastated," she said while giving me a shy smile. "but they are doing good now, you do not have to worry sister," dugtong nito.

Masaya ako na malaman iyon. Alam ko na masasanay din sila. I don't want them to be sad, because they've been a loving parents to me, afterall I'm not even their real daughter.

"But sister, how have you been? Are you treated well here?" She asked with a worried look.

Ngumiti ako. "I am doing good, and they do treated me well." Except from that jerk! singit ng utak ko. But of course hindi na iyon dapat malaman ni Elysse.

Ngumiti din ito.

"I'm glad to hear that," she replied.

"What about you?" tanong ko.

Natigilan ito.

"Be honest with me. I do understand if you are still mad at me." Sa totoo lang ay nagdududa pa din ako kay Elysse. Pakiramdam ko ay may tinatago siya sa'kin.

Her face became sad. "I am not mad at you, how could I? He's not mine to begin with. It's not like, you stole him from me." She said while staring at my face.

I couln't respond. I did stole him, but she doesn't know it. Pero hindi naman mababaw ang dahilan ko. I did it to save my life. Only to know that it was all a trap. I so hate that asshole!

"I do have feelings for him, but I cannot do anything about it because the crown prince doesn't feel the same way. I do not hate you sister. I'm just hurt, that's all." dugtong nito.

Mas lalo tuloy ako na-guilty.

I sighed. It's no point to cry over spilled milk. What done is done. It was my choice, so I should bear this guilt. I don't want to dwell with it anymore.

"Thank you for understanding me, Elysse."

"I just wish you both all the happiness." sagot nito.

May happiness nga ba para sa'min?

"Anyway, you should take your rest. Cara here will lead you to your room. I know your tired from the long journey. I'll request someone to bring your food into your room. Let's stroll around tomorrow." sabi ko.

Tumayo ito at nag-bow. "Then, I should take my leave, sister."

"I heard that your sister has arrived." He said while cutting the steak.

Bakit ba lagi na lang ito nag-yayaya ng lunch? Lagi ko na lang tuloy hindi na-eenjoy ang kinakain ko tuwing lunch dahil sa kanya.

"Yes, I told her to rest for today. Tomorrow, I will accompany her to stroll in the palace."

"Too bad. I was hoping I could teach you riding a horse." 

Napaangat ang tingin ko sa kanya. "I know how to ride a horse."

"Really? I thought you never learned that."

Well, the real Therese can't ride a horse. But as Hanna, I can. And I'm a good one.
