"Are you sure you'll be alright?" Sajou asked, propped up on his elbow as he lay next to kusakabe, gently messing with his hair, before moving his hand down to cup his cheek, gently smiling as the blonde simply leaned into his touch "I don't mind staying up longer until you fall asleep"
Simply shaking his head, kusakabe pulled sajou further into bed, even slipping the glasses off for him to get him more comfortable "nah, you have to be up early and it's late as it is. I'm not ruining your career by being afraid of thunder." He smiled, pressing a small kiss to Sajou's forehead, leaving him lightly blushing and rolling his eyes, "Are you absolutely sure?"
"Positive, love. Sleep. You need it." The blonde smiled gently at his partner, blushing as he wrapped his arms around his chest and snuggled into him. "Wake me up if anything happens, okay?" Sajou closed his eyes and sighed, carefully playing with kusakabes hair once more before getting drowsier. "I will," Kusakabe nuzzled sajous hair, "I love you."
He didn't really expect a response to that, but even just a muttered 'I love you too' from a sleepy sajou made him all the happier regardless. Kusakabe felt content for the moment in silence, with sajou falling asleep in his arms, and temporarily let his his thoughts and fear melt away, letting him take in the moment now before another strike of thunder scared the life out of him, having him cling onto Sajou like his life depended on it.
Kusakabe made sure to hold back any whimpering, even as Sajou hushed him and held him closer, running a hand tiredly down his back just as a slight motion of comfort. "Are you sure you don't want me to stay up with you?" Sajou muttered, feeling around to find his glasses, though still being hugged tightly by kusakabe.
"Kusakabe?"
"No no no, its fine" He quickly hid his face in the pillow, humiliated and not wanting to Sajou in the eye. Though, Sajou at least wanted him to sleep for a little while, "is there anything I can at least do?" He shuffled to sit up from his position is his partners arms when they loosened from around him, laying so they were now face to face. The blonde peaked at Sajou with tears slightly pricking the corners of his eyes, attempting to play off the fact that he wasn't about to cry about thunder when he finally decided to look at the other. "I told you, I'll be okay-"
"Kusakabe."
"Fine, just something to drown out the noise." Kusakabe blushed slightly at a thought. "Do you have music on your phone? I can get your headphones-"
Before he could finish and get up, kusakabe quickly held onto sajou again, startling him a little "Wait wait I uh..." kusakabe took a second to muster up courage, and only blushed a little more "could you... sing to me?"
Sajous eyes widened with his whole face heating up, leaving kusakabe to panic a little "I mean- doesn't have to full on singing or anything, humming or something will do!!"
"Kusakabe-"
Before sajou could continue, kusakabe turned to face the wall, completely embarrassed and flushed red "it's fine, just ignore what I said!" Kusakabe was content on staying this way, shivering as thunder rumbled faintly, though not as close as usual. He quickly buried himself under the covers, figuring if he hid it would go away.
Sajou sighed softly at the sight, snuggling back under the the covers and gently playing with kusakabes hair, slowly scooching closer so that he can hold him close to him "it's okay..." he hummed gently, moving the covers so he could plant a kiss on the blondes head, smiling as he watched him sink into his arms. "i don't mind humming... if its what will help you sleep"
Without waiting for an answer or protest from kusakabe, sajou leaned in to nestle his hair, gently playing with it again as he hummed whichever song first came to mind, he looked a little flustered and nervous about it, but he didn't want the blonde to miss out on sleep over a fear. Kusakabe couldn't help but blush when he started, feeling the vibration thrum against the nape of his neck, lulling him to sleep. Now, all he could think about was sajou, no more fear clouding his silly little brain, or tensing his muscles till he was trembling, it was just sajou and his voice.
Noticing the blonde slowly drift off, sajou chuckled to himself, giving kusakabe one last kiss, "goodnight, Hikaru." Before continuing his humming and beginning to drift off too
