BREAK

Naruto leaned on the windowsill with a faraway look, thinking about what Chisato...no, Afureia, his cousin, told him.

BREAK

"My mom...a goddess?"

Chisato, or Afureia, as she now revealed, nodded slowly, her eyes soft but steady as they met Naruto's. A gentle smile crossed her lips, her warmth attempting to ease the confusion she knew was weighing on him.

"Yes, Naruto-kun," she said softly. "Your mother was no ordinary woman. Raphaeline or Kushina, should I say, was a goddess, just like me, one of the Ten Gods of the God Tribe and the older siblings of our youngest brother, the biblical God."

Naruto's mind raced, trying to grasp the enormity of what she was saying. "But why...? Why didn't anyone tell me?"

"Because," she hesitated, biting her lip as if unsure how much to reveal but decided to tell him, "It was your mother's idea... She wanted to protect you until you are able to protect yourself. And... we agreed, your father and I."

Naruto blinked, absorbing the weight of her words. The silence between them thickened as she continued. "We've actually known each other for much longer than just our time here at Kuoh Academy." Afureia smiled gently at the teenager. "Since the day you were born, I've been watching over you and by your side."

Naruto felt his breath catch in his throat. He hadn't expected this—any of it. "Watching over me?  By my side? What do you mean?"

Chisato's smile softened, her eyes filled with warmth and something deeper, like nostalgia. "It is as I said, I was there when you were born. But I didn't stay long since I have duties to attend to. I didn't miss each of your birthdays though."

He took in everything she said and piece them carefully. "But...why...why don't I have any memories of you?"

"First of all," Chisato gently squeezed his hand, her thumb brushing over his knuckles, offering comfort in the storm of emotions raging inside him. "Do you remember how your parents died?"

Naruto nodded his head slowly and with a somber tone, he answered;

"Yes, a burglar... they didn't want to hand over anything, so they were killed."

"That wasn't it."

Naruto froze, confusion sweeping over him. "What?"

Chisato smiled sadly, shaking her head. "Naruto-kun, your parents were gods. Why would you think something as ordinary as a burglar could kill them?"

He blinked in disbelief as Chisato explained.

"The truth is, our friend, a close friend of your mother and I, sacrificed herself to seal your memories. And I... I used almost all my godly powers to seal yours... which is why I was deadly worried when I felt your power activating last night."

His world shifted beneath him, the weight of the truth settling like a heavy stone in his chest. He didn't interrupt, though. Chisato's voice became gentler, her words deliberate as she continued.

"Your parents didn't die in a robbery," The school nurse began. "They were lured into a trap by a group of Fallen Angels, led by Satanael and Kokabiel. You were with them... you fought, all three of you. Even without your powers, you managed to defeat many of them, but their leaders... despite being injured... they killed your parents and severely wounded you."
