Forgiveness (Chapter 8)

Third person POV:

A few days passed and both Luka and Marinette haven't seen Zoe since that day. With each day passing by without hearing from Zoe, Marinette felt more and more guilty and mad at herself.

Zoe hadn't replied or reached out to Luka either. Luka wanted to blame Marinette but he knew it was both of them to blame. Luka sometimes tried to visit Zoe at the hotel but her butler never let Luka in. As for Marinette, she wanted to visit but she couldn't bring herself to face Zoe.

Zoe wasn't coming to school either. Marinette kept asking Ms. Bustier but Ms. Bustier didn't know either. Chloe seemed to be having so much fun while Zoe wasn't here, Chloe also didn't tell Marinette about Zoe.

Marinette's/Ladybug's POV:

It's been more than a week since I haven't see Zoe, I was getting really worried. I tried going to her hotel but I would chicken out when I got to the front door. I have been talking with Luka lately mostly about Zoe, of course he was as worried as I was. I was so worried so I decided to transform as Ladybug and look through her balcony door. Luka told me not to when I told him about it since he knew I was Ladybug, but he finally agreed since he was also worried.

I wished for Hawkmoth to make a super villan just so I could see Zoe or Vesperia. I know it was a bad thing to wish for, not a bad thing but a HORRIBLE thing, but I was desperate

After school, I did my homework and decided it was time to check on Zoe. It was about 5:30 PM so I hoped Zoe was in her room. It's not like she went anywhere, not that I know of, of course.

I transformed into Ladybug and jumped to Zoe's balcony, I was hiding behind a plant so she wouldn't see me. I peeked into her room to see boxes of tissue on her bed while Zoe was putting her head between her legs crying. Then I noticed she looked at me but I couldn't move away because I didn't know how to even move my legs, I was frozen for some reason. Zoe stared at me and I gave up trying to hide, I knocked on her balcony door and Zoe signalled me that I could come in.

"Ladybug, what are you doing here" Zoe then said, her voice cracking

"Your friend Marinette told me she was worried about you" I then said making an excuse on the spot

"Oh... Marinette" Her voice trailed off after saying my name

"Did something happen between you two? She said you weren't coming to school"

Zoe wiped the tears in her eyes with a tissue then said

"I love Marinette... But I also love Luka, I've been feeling more pressured lately"

"I can't choose one of them knowing that I would break the other's heart" Zoe continued

"Then I found out a few days ago that Marinette and Luka made a deal for who could win my heart, I was heartbroken after that" Zoe said after a short while

I wanted to burst out crying saying that I'm extremely sorry to Zoe, telling her that "It's me Marinette!", but I couldn't.

"Now I don't think if their love for me was real or it was just some stupid bet" Zoe said after another moment of silence

"I'm sure they really loved you Zoe, with all their heart. I'm really sorry about what you are going through at the moment and I hope you figure it out" I then said, resisting the urge to just hug her

"Thank you Ladybug"

I gave her a soft smile and jump out from her balcony. I landed at my house and detransformed.

"I can't believe I put her in so much pressure, Tikki. I'm not capable of maintaining a relationship" I said to Tikki while feeding her a cookie

"You are capable of that Marinette, Zoe just needs more time"
