Chapter Eighteen : Gifts

Piyashi's Pov

"Ma ji, how's this?"I ask,looking  at a blue t - shirt and she shakes her head.

"You can take it but Aryan only wears black,white and grey.One time I bought him a  green shirt and I never saw him wearing it."

I sigh,"I don't know what to get him!"

"Dear,you have already bought him a watch,a laptop,two of his favourite books and you're organising this party for him.What more do you want to get him?"

"Ma ji,all that is nice but the gift needs to be more meaningful."Inspiration strikes as I  see something through the window.

I tug the edges of Ma Ji's sari,"Ma Ji,look!"she sees what I'm looking at and smiles,"Are you sure?"

I nod, walking into the shop.

After buying the item ,we have lunch and chat.She pays for lunch after playful bickering and I drop her home.

"Don't forget.Call me about 7pm to discuss the plan!"she says and I nod.

"Okay."

After phoning ma ji at 7pm,we decide what to do.Papa Ji postponed some of Aryan's meetings to another day.Ma Ji ,my mama ,papa and Preeti will decorate  our place while I get Aryan to come home.Then I get a call from my best friend.

"Hey, what's up!?Are you missing me already!?"I ask Grace.I hear her laughing and some music playing in the background.

"A little.So what are you up to?"she asks.

"It's Aryan's birthday tomorrow.I only found out yesterday that it was his birthday.I'm planning a birthday party for him."

"Wow, interesting."

"Yes, I went shopping  today for the stuff.I  even bought the cake but it's with Ma Ji.The plan for tomorrow is that no one wishes him ,I somehow get him to come here for the party and SURPRISE!"

"If he doesn't like the gifts, I'm always available."

I laugh, shaking my head."Guess what.... I told him that I was going to visit my childhood friend 'Nia' today! Obviously I couldn't tell him that Ma ji and I went shopping and then lunch."

"Nia! Seriously?I know how you get when you go shopping and for food!Who paid for shopping?"

"I did.I picked the things.There were so nice...there was a special and you know how I feel about specials!"

"And lunch?"

"Oh,Ma ji paid for it.She is so nice and a cool mom in law...you know.She trusts me and she loves me so much"I say, thinking of our bond.I'm so lucky!

"So everything is going to plan."

I giggle,"Yes,the plan is on.I'm so happy!Aryan doesn't suspect a thing!He is in for a surprise!"I say."Well,good night.I have to wake up early and dress up.I'm going to Aryan's office  and I  want to impress him!"

"Oh,I smell love in the air!"

I laugh,"Good night Grace!"

"Good night."

Aryan's Pov

I take off my tie and blazer when I see that Piya is not here.Usually she will be watching TV or doing something wierd.Wait,I hope that she's not sick or anything.

I start walking to the room.I knock on the door twice,"Piyashi?Are you okay?"
I sigh when I don't get any response.She must be sleeping!I open the door slowly and I see her lying down on her stomach ,on a phone call.My eyebrows furrow as I see shopping bags from various stores in the sides of the bed.Where did that come from?

I open my mouth to speak but she continues talking,not realising that I'm standing right here.She laughs,"Guess what.... I told him that I was going to visit my childhood friend 'Nia' today! Obviously I couldn't tell him that Ma ji and I went shopping and then lunch."

What!?She lied to me!Why?I suspected that she was lying to me!Why couldn't she tell me that she and mom were going out!I wouldn't say anything.

"I did.I picked  the things.There were so nice...there was a special and you know how I feel about specials!"

I should ask her not to lie to me again!If she wanted to buy some things ,I won't stop her! I'm not a controlling husband!

Then I hear the next statement of hers and I feel enraged.

"Oh,Ma ji paid for it.She is so nice and a cool mom in law...you know.She trusts me and she loves me so much."

What does she mean?

Mom paid for her stuff.I look around to see a lot of stuff and I scowl.Mom is very trusting.Even I trusted Piyashi but she turned out to be worse than her sister.At least with her sister,you could see how she is.

I was so wrong about Piyashi.She turned out to be a golddigger.She didn't take my money last time to get into my good books and here she is using my mom to get what she wants.So that's why she lied to me...all because she wanted to use my mom's money.She is very cunning and manipulative.She knew that I would never give her my money so she pretended to be a good bahu(daughter in law).
She is just talking casually like there is nothing wrong with that.

I hear Piyashi giggling,"Yes,the plan is on.I'm so happy!Aryan doesn't suspect a thing!He is in for a surprise!"

What plan!She is still up to something!I can't believe it!I feel a knot in my stomach as I listen to her.I was even starting to accept her as my wife but never again.I won't trust her nor will I let her control me or my parents.

"Well,good night.I have to wake up early and dress up.I'm going to Aryan's office  and I  want to impress him!"

I turn around and leave the room.I won't get impressed with all the things that she bought.If she  didn't act like a gold digger and  a liar,then I would've been.

I take out my phone and dial my PA's number."I need you to do something for me."I say.

So...she wants to visit my office,huh?She will be in for a surprise,not me!
