Azrael? Azrael??

Y/n slowly opened his eyes with a groan at the sound of his alarm, the sunlight streaming through the gap in his curtains right into his face. He tried getting up, only to be held down by an arm wrapped around his waist from behind. He craned his neck to see Azrael lying there, just starting to wake up.

Y/n stifled a yawn and smacked the top of his alarm clock, "Azrael. We've got to wake up."

Azrael yawned himself, moving the arm that was keeping Y/n hostage and stretched, breathing harshly out of his nose with a low noise, "What's the time?" He asked, his morning voice deep.

Y/n's cheeks reddened at the sound of his voice, "it's half past seven." He sat up to stretch, his back clicking before he got fully out of bed, "I'll make us some breakfast. Bacon and egg sandwich sound good? My mother has already gone to work." Azrael nodded, his eyes half closed as he yawned again, covering his mouth.

Y/n went downstairs into the kitchen and started preparing their food. His mother had left some money on the counter with a note that read 'for the both of you to get food at school.' There was a little red smiley face at the end, which caused Y/n to smile. He checked on the eggs and bacon and started preparing the bread for the sandwich, adding some spread onto them before adding the now fully cooked bacon and egg.

Azrael came downstairs just in time, his hair a mess from where he'd been sleeping, "what?" Y/n realised he was staring and met Azrael's eyes.

Y/n snorted at the sight, covering his mouth to muffle the noise,  "I'm sorry- it's just your hair- You've got a nasty case of bed head," Y/n said with a lazy grin. He'd never let Azrael forget about it if he remembered himself, having a tendency to forget.

Azrael patted the sticking out parts of his hair and flattened it the best he could, "it's not that funny..." he stated blandly,  pouring himself a glass of water and taking a bite of the food.

His eyes lit up, "this is good!" Azrael exclaimed through a mouthful of food.

"Finish it then," Y/n said, his voice nonchalant, "before it gets cold."

Y/n finished his own food and went back upstairs to change into his school uniform before Azrael finished his food. He carefully placed Azrael's clean and dry uniform on his bed that his mother had left outside his door that morning, making sure there was no crumples in the neatly folded clothes, especially his blazer.

He grabbed his tie and shoved it into a pocket, usually putting it on as he walked to school and went back downstairs. Azrael stood next to the kitchen side on his phone, looking as if he was messaging someone.

"Who you messaging?" Y/n asked him curiously. He'd never seen the taller guy speak to anyone but him and the odd snarky remark too Marie or Sally.

Azrael looked up quickly and put his phone in his pocket, "my mom. She was asking if I was okay. She's coming home for a few days later today," he said, eyes guarded. Y/n stared at him, trying to see if he could get any more information before nodding and turning away, doesn't seem like he's lying... he thought, realising he'd never heard Azrael talk about his parents. It seemed to be a touchy subject for him. He had claimed to Y/n they are always on work trips all over the world and constantly travel. He'd been often living by himself from a young age, only having his neighbours check on him regularly and to make sure he hadn't burnt the house down.

"Oh. That's... good... I think?" Y/n said. Azrael nodded but said no more, his face unreadable with a hint of what Y/n thought was irritation.

They walked to school in silence, Y/n's hands busy with tying his tie up. As soon as they left the house he'd gone back to his shy, quieter side. He seemed to be a different person at home and he hated being around too many people.
