No blasting music or indistinct chatter could drown out the sound of her heart. Rapidly beating in her chest filled with anticipation and anxiety.

Who would have thought the new school year would take such a toll on poor Etsumi?

She scrunched up her nose watching her reflection in the train's window. She had grown confident enough to declare herself as "cute", hope that others might think the same brought a smile to her lips. The uniform provided by U.A. was quite easy to point out in a crowd. Although it was not as casual or comfortable as her middle school attire. The grey and green bundle of fabric wrapped around her form in a cacophony of textures, it was ugly, to say the least, but also comfortable, and truly, she wore it with pride. Her peripherals caught the small glances provided by other passengers, and were now no longer associated with ideas of her looking bad or making a fool of herself, instead those glances sparked joy within her. She has grown confident.

The train cart came to a halt. Its doors slid apart with a heavy sound, the cart filling in with more unruly teenagers or preoccupied businessmen. Etsumi checked the time - she made it a point to arrive much earlier to school.

Only to calm her first-day nerves.

With her phone in hand, she began scrolling past messages and skipping songs blasting in her earphones - they were all cheery idol raps - but she couldn't pay attention to any of the lyrics, instead, she let the sound of her heartbeat takeover. One thing yet, had come to bother her, the worry of Haru.

Not having heard from the girl in so long, she thought it was safe to assume Kanehama didn't get into Yuuei. She had even considered bailing on her first day, avoiding her moral dilemma altogether, because it felt immoral, she thought, to attend a school and follow the dream of someone else, knowing how much they would have wanted to be in her shoes. Despite it all, that was no solution.

Etsumi felt a soft bump on her shoulder. The thud snapping her away from any thoughts she previously held. "Oh I'm sorry!" she was just about to mumble. Turning back her eyes fell atop burnt-cherryies, soft and gentle in a way only a man's could be. Her nose twitched once hit with a smell that she couldn't fathom, strong thick, and insufferable, body spray, the stinging in her eyes made them seal shut. Her head twitched to the side in discomfort.

"Oops!" Rang a feminine voice, much too bubbly and sweet to be the cherry-boys. "My bad! Pretty crowded here huh?" The girl continued.

The plumette let go of the handle she was holding onto, turning to face whoever was speaking to her. A cheerful girl, pink from head to toe, with eyes that resembled yellow moons in the depths of night, and pointy devilish horns to match her mischievous smile.

"I suppose..." Jin-zhou replied, a little taken aback by the mutant before her. Internally she furrowed her brows, trying to make sense of the situation, feeling the girl's partner glare right through the back of her skull, as if he was looking for something in her hair. Finnaly taking off her earbuds, she turned back to offer a concerned glance, the pink girl however, took it as an invitation to converse, extending her hand towards her friend. "Don't 'cha think so Kiri?" She playfully hit his chest, snapping him out of whatever thoughts he had paired with Etsumi's appearance. He muttered something affirmatively, before placing his knuckles on his chin, signaling he had more thinking to do. Deep in his mind, he squinted down towards the plum-haired girl. He was only a couple of inches taller than both of the girls, but his fiery red hair somehow added to this made-up intimidating aura of his, he spoke gently, so she assumed he was not a particularly bad guy, yet seemed so intimidating otherwise. Yes, his voice, did seem a bit familiar to her as well. Scarlet eyes narrowed down.
