As I set up the broadcast area, Marcus was just standing there. Apparently I was a genius and had to do it myself. Absolutely ridiculous. I had to keep the peace though, this was only going to get harder if i didn't.
"Testing, testing" I speak into the mic. "This broadcast is coming from Ridgewood high, miami florida, we have food, shelter, weapons and plenty of room for survivors of the outbreak. Best way here is through vehicles, walking is not an option."
I stopped recording and sent out messages worldwide. In order to get it to every radio immediately, I had to hack into the satellite. Which is something i can definitely do, so i open up the computer and start hacking, i get in rather quickly, then i plug in the broadcast to the computer and let the data download. Successfully, my broadcast started playing on any radio in the room, which means it definitely got around the world, slowly but surely.
"Wow, that was fast," Marcus smiles, sounding impressed. He did have a very bright smile- no no no i can't be thinking like that, he's nothing but a dick.
"Yeah, it gets easier every time" I smile.
"Do you do this often?" he looks at me shocked.

"How do you think I passed all my classes when I decided I didn't wanna do the work?" I retorted.
He laughs softly, nodding his head as if in agreement. It was strange, when he smiled he actually looked good, sweet even. Damnit, no. I dig my nails into my palm, focusing on the pain rather than the feelings. I wasn't one for feelings, it was a weakness, it just held you back, made the mission harder.
But the way he looked at me . . . oh wow, the way he looked at me just five seconds ago when we were having a decent conversation- NO. I dig my nails deeper, I feel a drop of blood hit my leg.
"Your bleeding kid," he smirks.
Kid? Seriously, we were the same age! He had the NERVE.
"Whatever asshole" I roll my eyes and walk out, the second I turn the corner, I look at my hands. They had craters in them from my nails, they were bleeding quite a bit.

"Dammit," I whisper. This may not be a healthy habit but it was either face feelings for a douche or bleed every time those feelings start up again. I preferred bleeding. I wipe my hands on my black shorts and head outside, a small group of zombies crowded around the towers and stations that Tessa and Carly had set up with weapons.
"Carly is that a flame thrower" I called out, looking at the massive flamethrower she hooked up to the fence.
"Maybe" she laughed as she finished hooking it up. "To be fair, Tessa has some heavy duty machine guns."

"Hey, these are fuckin awesome!" Tessa hollers out as she lets bullets rain into the crowd of zombies, watching them fall.
I smile and shake my head. They were finding spirit in these hard times, it was traumatizing watching all this stuff happen, and here Tessa is, hollering like a cowgirl shooting zombies with a high tech machine gun.
Carly glances at the scratch still across my arm. "What happened there?
"One of the zombies scratched me, it's strange." I reply, putting a hand over the scratch, and gasps to look up and see a gun in my face. "Carly?"

"Don't move" she glares. "You're going to turn into one of those things out there."
"The hell you mean! No I'm not, I would have to be bitten!" I take a step back.
"Don't move! My mom got scratched and turned, I won't let you hurt anyone, so you better STAY. BACK." she yells.
I look down at the floor, trying not to lose it. I got so angry and right now I just wanted to be the one with the gun. As soon as I was about to make my move, everyone else came running out, and the first voice I heard was Tyler's, I believed he was the oldest.
"CARLY PUT THE GUN DOWN! ARE YOU CRAZY"he bellows and steps in front of me.
"MOVE TYLER, she's infected!" she glares.

Josh looks at me, then at my arm. "Carly, infection is almost instant, everyone that gets infected would be one of those freaks in minutes, she's been here, and human, for over three hours. This is a mistake "Josh tries to explain, it seemed he was the smart one.
"She said she got scratched josh!" She kept the gun pointed at me, well, technically tyler.
"Maybe she thought she did, but i can test it ok, i have a zombie blood sample, i can identify the virus and see if it's coursing through her veins" josh offers, putting his hand out to her, asking for the gun.
She looks at him unsure, but looks at Tyler and slowly hands the gun to josh. "Fine, but I want her tied up till then, for everyone's safety" she snarls and glares at me. She really expected me to be all like "sure tie me up, that's ok"? Absolutely not, I wasn't one of those freaky dead things out there.
"No, i'm not one of those nasty things out there, do i look dead to you, i'm fine, josh is going to run tests-" i start but carly cuts in.
"Get tied up or buried, your choice" she sneers.
That's it.
