"I don't know what I've been told!"
"I don't know what I've been told!" We all repeated after my dad.
"Team USA's gonna win the gold!"
"USA's gonna win the gold!"
"Listen up and listen good!"
"Listen up and listen good." We all jumped down the hill skating after my dad in the golf cart.
"We're all headed for Hollywood!"
"We're all headed for Hollywood!"
"Sound off."
"One, two."
"Sound off."
"Three, four."
"Bring 'em on down."
"One, two, three, four."
We all skated back to the place we were staying and soon had to board the plane to Los Angeles.
We all walked into the big courtyard looking around in wonder. There were people and balloons everywhere.
We went to our locker room and got ready for our very first game, against Trinidad Tobago. As we all got ready to go onto the ice for training before the game Adam came up to me.
"You nervous?" He asked and I nodded.
"A little, but I know we'll do good." He nods and we both go out onto the ice with the rest of the team.
Soon after the game starts we start crushing them. We used all over moves on them and they weren't scoring any goals at all. Soon we got called for a face off because some kid tripped Jesse and he landed in the goal. Suddenly Jesse gets up and starts to push the player but the ref breaks it up and puts Jesse in the box for 2 minutes. Soon after we sent out the bash brothers. They really were a duo and had everyone, mostly the girls, cheering for them. Then it was my turn, as I was getting on the ice I looked in the crowd and saw some scouts. Great, definitely need all this pressure on me right now.
I went up to the middle and looked my opponent in the eye and he laughed.
"Yo should a girl even be playing this game?" He said laughing and I laughed with him.
"If so then maybe your team should stop playing." He stopped laughing and death glared me while I shot him a sweet smile. We heard the whistle and I passed the puck to Charlie and push the guy over.
"Better luck next time cake eater." I say and skate off to help my team. As I'm skating I see one of the guys from the other team take the puck off Adam and I shake my head as I skate after him. He was too fast for me though and scores a goal for his team.
"Dammit!" I say and the guy who I was talking with before chuckled as he skated past me.
Nearing the end of the game we scored yet another goal and the crowd went wild. We had won the game. I sighed in relief as I went over to my team and we all hugged and celebrated.

Later on we had to have an interview and let's just say that there were a lot of people. We all got a photo with the bear and then went back to answering questions.
"Hello!" We heard of chorus of and I didn't pay attention to all of them until I heard my name.
"Y/n! What is it like being the coaches daughter? Are you as good as your dad or better?"
"Uhhh I'd say we're pretty much the same and it's pretty great!" I say and she comes at me with another question.
"Would you say that being the coaches daughter you get favouritised? Do you ever feel that maybe you didn't get here because of talent and that your just a ride along with a free ride because of your connections?" I just stared at her dumbfounded. How could she say that?
"Hey excuse you." I hear from behind me as Adam and Charlie come out to the microphone and start talking to the lady.
"Y/n has earned her place here like everyone else!" Charlie said and Adam shook his head.
"Yeah, I'd say that sometimes she even carries this team. And she doesn't get favouritised, she gets the same treatment that we all do!" Adam said and then Charlie continued.
"Now I think that y/n has had enough questions today." I nodded and then stayed silent for the rest of the time. Did I really only get to be here because I'm the coaches daughter? Am I really not that good? Has everyone been lying to me to make me feel better?

Later that night I'm sitting outside again when Charlie comes out and sits next to me.
"What's wrong?" He asks.
"Nothings wrong." I say and Charlie looks at me with a raised eyebrow.
"I know that's not true so what's wrong?" I sigh and turn to look at him.
"What if I'm not actually that good? Like what if they're right? What if I'm only here because my dad's here?" Charlie shakes his head and puts an arm on my shoulder.
"Y/nn. I have told you that you suck at singing Celine Dion and Mariah Carey songs. I have told you that you suck at making coffee. I have even told you that you suck at bowling. But have I ever told you that you suck at hockey?" I shake my head.
"No." I say and he nods.
"Exactly, if you sucked at hockey then I would've told you. I'll always tell you the truth. You are a great hockey player, way better than me or any of the other guys. Those reporters are just jerks and nosy who make up rumours to make themselves feel better. Okay so ignore them, think of them all naked if you have to!" I look at him weirdly and he stops.
"Okay maybe not imagine that, but whatever you do, don't let what they say get to you." I nod and hug him.
"Thanks Charlie." I say and he returns the hug while rubbing my back.
"Anytime y/nn."
