THIRD YEAR | 1993
THALIA WAS SITTING ON ONE OF the beds in the infirmary, watching as Madam Pomfrey tend to a first year who broke his finger on the train.
"Alright dearie, you're all fixed up. Go down to the Great Hall. Quickly now, you do not want to miss the sorting ceremony." Madam Pomfrey ushered the child out. "Alright now, what happened, Miss LaCroix?"
"I was attacked by a dementor on the train." Thalia explained simply. "What? A dementor attacked you?" Madam Pomfrey asked, pausing her actions.
"Yeah, I'm okay now, though. I'm only here because my friends would've eventually forced me to come up here anyway." Thalia shrugged.
Madam Pomfrey gave a little chuckled before she spoke, "You are quite lucky to have friends that care about you so much. But as for the dementor situation, there is not much I can do as they cause no physical damage."
"Yeah, I figured that would've been the case." Thalia sighed before getting up off the bed she was sitting on. "Sorry for wasting your time, Madam Pomfrey."
The elder woman looked to the girl with a warm smile as she spoke, "Do not apologize dear, I'm glad you came to see me. I will talk to Dumbledore about this incident." She promised. "And here take this before you leave, it will make you feel better." Madam Pomfrey said, handing Thalia a chocolate frog.
"Thank you." Thalia said gratefully. "Bye, Madam Pomfrey." She said before exiting the infirmary heading towards the Great Hall.
As soon as the girl entered the hall, the smell of warm food surrounded her. As she quickly made her way to the Ravenclaw table, she caught the eye of Draco Malfoy.
"Had a bit of an accident, did you, LaCroix!" He shouted, catching the attention of almost everyone in the hall. "Heard all about your first kiss with a dementor." Thalia stopped in her tracks and turned to face the Slytherin table, briefly connecting her gaze with a certain Riddle.
"Aww, Malfoy, i didn't know you were keeping tabs on me, a little creepy i you ask me. Don't you think Malfoy?" Thalia fake pouted."You should probably keep your stalking to a minimum."
"How dare you speak to me like that, my father will hear about this and you will be sorry!" Draco fumed while the rest of the school, excluding his gang, were chuckling.
"Great, can't wait." Thalia smirked before walking over to her table where Collete sat grinning widely next to Luna. "That was amazing. I love it when Malfoy is put in his place." Collete clapped excitedly.
"That was quite entertaining, Thalia." Luna spoke in her soft, dreamy voice.
"What she said." Collete nodded in agreement, pointing at Luna."Thanks. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to shove my face with these roast potatoes." Thalia said, loading her plate with the golden crispy potatoes.
