The blonde lurches forward, a hand clutching her nightgown-clad chest; tension weighing on her like an anvil. Her mind is telling her to turn to you, eradicate these silly assumptions. Yet her heart... her heart knows. The fickle thing is trying its best to keep her suspended in the bittersweet purgatory her dreams have provided her.
However, at some point, she must face the reality of the situation. Slowly but surely she turns her head and a tear rolls down her cheek. Your chest isn't rising like it's supposed to and your soft breaths don't permeate the air above you. You lay motionless, like a porcelain doll on the sheets.
She reached out to touch your cheek and it's lukewarm at most. Maybe she imagines it to be that way, because you've definitely been gone for a few hours. She stays that way for a while, frozen to the spot. It feels like a sin to move, to go on without you. It's the first time in three years that you've not woken up by her side.
The air feels different, as if she's invading a forbidden space. Suddenly, her breath catches in her throat and a sob springs from her belly. She covers her mouth, knowing you wouldn't have wanted her to cry. She just can't help herself, it's like she's lost a piece of her soul. You may have talked about her 'purpose' but in her heart and mind, her purpose was loving you.

Delia's pov
I didn't know where to put her body, so I left it at the house for the time being. We still have a week there and I know she'll be undisturbed. I transmuted back to the academy, wanting to fulfill her wish. I sigh as I sit at my desk, holding back tears as my eyes catch a framed picture of us. One of the girls captured it while we weren't looking.I'm holding her waist from behind as she laughs without a care. It doesn't take long for the surrounding visions to come in. It was after I first became supreme, she organized a little gathering with the girls. We had a picnic in the park, filled the day with music and games. It's one of my fondest memories with her.
As I search for her letter, my mind recalls all of the core memories I made with her. Including the day she asked me to be hers, officially. I was always hers in reality so the asking seemed like a formality at the time. I remember her knocking on my door late at night and just entering before I could reply...
*flashback*
I watch as Jasmine climbs in the bed and scoots closer to me. "Are you ok, sweetie?" I ask softly, trying not to give away how her proximity causes my heart to beat at super speeds. "Mhm" she hums softly while latching on to me tightly. I wrap my arms around her and inhale her scent, exhaling contently.
"Delia?" she whispers, "yes, honey" I respond quietly. "You know I love you, right?" she prompts, "I love you too, darling" I whisper absently as my mind wanders. I always dream of her saying those words, gazing into my eyes filled with love. "Will you be my girlfriend?" she asks shyly and I pull back for a moment to really look at her.
She smiles nervously but my focus is on her eyes. The hope brimming in them, her love for me seems to pour out of them. Her breath on my face feels like an anesthetic gas, easing my nerves and making me feel light. "Yes... of course" I breathe out in relief, overjoyed that she finally asked.
We share kisses and giggles, hands wandering curiously over each other's bodies. "I was waiting for you to ask, considering you're the supreme and all" she teases, "hey! I'm not the supreme" I remind her. "Yet..." she whispers matter-of-factly before pressing her lips against my own, knowing that I'll protest.
*end of flashback*
She always seems—seemed—to know things before I did. I thought for a while that she may be able to see the future. Her knowledge of things to come has always puzzled me. I finally find the letter and I grip it tightly in my hands. I run my fingers over her writing, my name written in beautiful cursive. I close my eyes as I open it, taking a deep breath before reading.
