Chapter 2 Jasmine

As Rosan and Jasmine get off the train at one of the many stops Jasmine pulls out her phone and checks her msgs because they finally got in service. Jasmine has over 100 msgs. Most of them are from her brother asking how the trip is and asking if Rosan is being a dick.

    Jake- hey how's your trip? And how are you two getting along? I know Rosan can be a dick sometimes.
        Jasmine- My trip is good. Rosan is going to make me broke with all the food he's eating. How can you put up with such a pig?
    Jake- LOL he's not too bad. I mean if you get annoyed by him you can always tell him to stop bugging you and ask someone to switch seats with you so you won't be annoyed.
        Jasmine- there're too many people on the train to switch I already asked.
    Jake- Just punch him in the dick like I taught you. Then tell him to stop acting like a baby.
        Jasmine- I'm not that mean bro. I'll just slap him. And kick him to the floor. Then steal his food.
    Jake- that-a-girl my baby sis is a tough cookie. Hey, I gotta get back to work. U too have fun. Don't do anything I wouldn't do! <3
        Jasmine- ok have fun love u too!

Jasmine smiles and turns off her phone and finishes her cig. Then she puts in her headphones and turns on a song as she boards the train and finds her seat. Rosan is fast asleep in both of their seats. So Jasmine decides it's only 9 pm so she walks to the scenery cart and sits down and continues to listen to music.  She sits there for about an hour before some noisy drunk people come and join her at her table. Jasmine pauses her music as they sit across and beside her. She then takes out one of her headphones to listen in on what they were asking.

"Hey I'm Eric and this is June and Jeff. What's your name?"
"Hey, I'm Jas."
"Sick name," says Jeff who is the stoner kid outta the group. Jasmine could tell he was just by the way his eyes looked in the lighting and how he wore a hoodie over his head. And by the way, he talked. She was very familiar with stoners. But she tried not to be around them too much. Not like they bothered her. Just because she had some bad experiences when she tried weed.  
"So where y'all headed?" Jasmine asked the kids who looked around the ages of 16-20
" Oregon. I should be there in a few days!" Perked up June who was texting on her phone.
" Wow, never been there. I'm headed to Nevada'' Jasmine answered and everyone picked up their heads and looked to the back of the train"
"Who's that hottie?" Eric asked.
"Well, that's Rosen."
"Damn, shawty where you come from. Beauty school or some shit?"
" Hey babe. Why are you out here with these weirdos?" Getting all defensive
" srsly. Chill bro. We ain't gonna hurt her. Gosh. We just wanna make new homies' ' Eric said quietly backing off.
"Rosen, that's mean I just came out here for some air, plus you were hogging up the seats with your fat ass, so even if I wanted to I couldn't sit down so I came out here to listen to music and then they came up to me and we started talking there on their way to Oregon," Jas said, trying to calm Rosan down.
"Well I don't trust these idiots, they look like druggies, let's go back to our seats," Rosen said, walking towards them.
"Man we ain't druggies were potheads, there's a HUGE difference," Jeff stated in self-defense with his arms raised.
"I don't give a shit, Jasmine we are leaving so come back to the seats," Rosen said all rudely.
"UHG, Fine but we're stopping anyway, at least let me go outside to smoke," Jasmine said, getting frustrated.
"You and ur nicotine I swear Jas that's gonna kill you one of these days, and I will tell you I told you so at your deathbed," Rosen said
"I don't care, I can't smoke anything else anymore because I have way too many things on my mind, also your so fucking mean, ya know that in fact, I don't even want ur attention tonight," Jasmine said standing up and walking away.

"DAMN dude you've pissed her off," Eric said, almost laughing.
"Don't call me dude, you're not my friend. Stay away from her or I swear to god I will kill you." Rosen said walking away to go sit back down.
"Oh, so she got herself a very protective man I see. I wonder how she likes it." Jeff adds

June walks out the door to get off the train to see if she can find Jasmine who is clearly upset
She finds Jasmine talking under her breath smoking away at her cig, she then notices she's not talking to herself but to her phone, June walks closer trying not to scare Jasmine. She overhears her say.

"Ann I swear this man drives me crazy, he is such a dick, won't let me make new friends and I don't understand why, it's not like imma cheat on him, he knows how much I love that fucker, and how head over heels I am for him. It's just sometimes I need my space and he won't give me any. Somedays I wish I had other people to talk about girl stuff with. But he won't let me go out of his sight for any longer than 10 minutes. I think it's too much at times and I don't know how to say that to him without hurting his feelings."

June couldn't hear what Ann was saying as she wasn't on speaker so June decided to get closer to Jasmine so she could notice her, Jasmine looks up and smiles and finishes her conversation with Ann. "Alright I gotta go, I love you! Bye."

"Hey?" Jasmine says.
" Hey yourself, soo, I kinda overheard what you were talking about, and word of advice just tell him how you feel I'm sure he would understand, I have a brother that way and I told him what was on my mind, they do say "Honesty is the best quality"

ANNOUNCEMENT~ BOARDING LAST CALL

"Thanks, you're really sweet. That's great advice, here give me your phone."
June hands Jasmine her phone. Jjas starts typing and hands it back
" If ya ever wanna talk just shoot me a text."
"Sweet will do!"
They board the train and go their separate ways. Jasmine goes to her seat and sees Rosan just sitting there waiting.
"Took you  long enough, what did you do, get lost?" Rosen said scruffy
"Look Rosen, I'm sick of your behavior, you are so bossy and I'm getting sick of it, why won't you let me make friends, it's like you don't trust me or anyone," Jaz said sitting down
"Ok fine I'll tell you why I'm such a dick, I'll tell you ok." Rosen faces Jaz and sighs.
"I got accepted to Yale, I leave after graduation, and I'm such a dick about it because this is the last of our alone time we will get until I leave. And I'm afraid that once I'm gone you will find someone else. Don't tell me you won't find someone else because I know you Jaz. Plus ur only 15 a freshman and I'm almost 18 so it's not going to work out anyway." Rosen says turning towards the window because he couldn't watch Jazes face turn to sadness.
"I"m happy you got into Yale Rosen, what do you mean it's not going to work out, are you kidding me, like you don't believe in us, at all?" Jasmine asked trying to keep her voice from breaking.
"Common Jaz, we don't have to do this right now let's enjoy the scenery ok?" Rosen says pointing at the hills.
"Bullshit Rosen, we have to do this now, otherwise you're going to put it off and then we will never get to it."
"Fine, I'm breaking up with you."
"Rosen what the actual fuck"
"Sorry Jaz it won't work out"
"Unbelievable," Jas says walking away and going back to the scenery cart.
