(Author's Note): Here we are, the final battle.
On Another Side of Imperial City...
Sonic was grinding on a rail and got of the rail and onto another platform.
Tails: That must have used up a ton of energy, the phantom ruby should be weaker now.
Ladybug(Miranette): This is our last chance to defeat Infinite.
Knuckles: All ships, provide backup to Sonic and the others. Draw the enemies attention and Sheild them from damage.
Sonic ran on that platform and boosted then got on a zipline and got to some nebula and homing attacked them then stomped on another platform then boosted to another road through more badniks.
Soldier 1: All hands remain altitude and assemble a tight formation, Sonic's team is our last hope. We have to protect them.
Soldier 2: A huge enemy force is closing fast, we're falling under attack.
Soldier 1: Keep an eye on them. Don't let them get near, every second we can buy for Sonic counts.
Soldier 2: Ship 3 took a direct hit to the bridge, they're falling back. Ship 7 has been crippled by heavy fire.
Soldier 1: Evacuate the flag ship. All hands abandon ship. Sorry Sonic, we did all we can. good luck out there.
Sonic: You did plenty already. We'll handle the rest.
And the blue blur boosted through all the enemies in his way and didn't stop until he got to Infinite.
Sonic was facing Infinite as the latter hovered in the air over the edge of a ramp before the Central Tower of the fortress.
Infinite: Pathetic little hedgehog. Even with the Phantom Ruby weakened, I still have enough power to smash you into blue jelly. I'll show you how outclassed you really are!
Sonic: I'm in a class all my own. Time to put-up or shut up, Infinite!
Pointed at Infinite before he ran up and leaped at Infinite.
The hedgehog landed on a floor and Infinite did a "come at me" jester before enlarging himself and floating away as Sonic ran after him.
Infinite: What would you like your epitaph to read? How about "Here lies the blue buffoon"?
Sonic: More like "Here dosses the masked clown". Might as well make it for a person that needs one right.
And the battle commenced and Sonic boosted after him and dodged the attacks he sent then homing attacked him a few times then Sonic stomped and boosted after him plowing through the badniks in his way then dodged the Virton cubes that were shot at him then homing attacked him again a few times. Infinite fully charged up his Phantom Ruby prototype. He was back to full strength.
Infinite: You're done for, Sonic. The Phantom Ruby's energy is recharged.
And the masked jackal unleashed a very powerful shock wave.
