My Eternal Twin Flame

I am so nervous that I show up late for the event, and I couldn't decide what to wear. I finally decided on a black jacket, a white button-down shirt, a black tie, a black lace vest and black dress pants. Other than a few rings and my favorite watch I don't do much in accessories. I arrive and walk the red carpet, the typical photo barrage happens but I'm not in the mood to indulge the paparazzi tonight. I'm on a mission to see my husband again after two thousand years.

I walk in, grab a drink from one of the trays and begin to make a full circuit of the room. I spot my beloved and simply watch him. He is still so incredibly beautiful, he's about the same height as he was in his second life. I wasn't sure if he would be tall like his first life but he is perfect just as he is. I watch him for a long time covertly, a man or woman is with him at all times. This must be the mother and uncle, they pull him from group to group. 

I know he doesn't care for people much but he's shaken hands with every person in every group. For someone who doesn't like people that's very strange. I observe him become a bit pale and look like he might be coming down with something. This makes me worried for him, I keep an eye on him until someone from the fundraising committee comes up to me and engages me in conversation. By the time I get myself out of it and away from them, he is nowhere to be found. I search the whole room and still don't see him, I decide to check the bathrooms and at the last one I check, I overhear a man talking.

"Hello, I feel like you have been avoiding me all night Wey Xian, I've seen you speak to so many people tonight and yet I get nothing. Why is that Xian?"

I hear a familiar voice reply. "Li Han, I'm just being a filial son and talking to the people my parents want me to talk to. Me not speaking to you isn't intentional."

The original speaker says "I don't think I believe you, I've told you how I feel about you Xian, why do you keep avoiding the inevitable? I'm rich, powerful and on good terms with your family. Maybe I'll go to them and make an offer of marriage, then you won't be able to avoid me."

I hear my Wey Ying stammer "I-I, no I no!"

The other man replies "Yes, now that I think of it, that's a magnificent idea, they would be crazy to turn down a proposal from my family and I would get you without any restrictions."

I hear a rustling sound and decide to walk in, I see my Wey Ying struggling against a larger man who is forcing his kiss on him. I grab the back of the guy's coat and pull him off Wey Ying, I punch him knocking him out. I turn to see Wey Ying crumple to the floor unconscious. 

I rush over to check on him, he's out cold. I call for the car to be brought to the back of the building and I pick him up and carry him out of the building. I climb into the car with him still in my arms and tell the driver to take us home.

I look down at his face, he is still ethereal, still perfect. My heart is beating so hard as I look at the man in my arm. He slowly comes to and gasps sitting up on my lap. His head moves around the back of the car in a confused manner so I cup his face with my hands "Wey Ying" I say softly trying not to startle him.

He stops breathing his eyes wide as he looks into mine, he lets out a strangled sod and wraps his whole body around mine. I can feel him trembling, not sure what's happening I hold him to me and try to calm him down rubbing slow comforting circles on his back. He calms down bit by bit and he buries his face in the crook of my neck, I hear him mumbling "Quiet, peaceful, finally, it's peaceful."

I scrunch my eyebrows in concern but tighten my arms around him and he relaxes against me, he moves his head so that his laying on my shoulder and completely relaxes.

I hear him whisper near my ear "I'm sorry, I don't mean to invade your personal space, I don't even know your name."

Holding me close to me I close my eyes relishing him in my arms, smelling his scent, feeling his warmth "You can stay like this for as long as you want, my name is Lan Zhan, Wey Ying."

I feel him take a deep breath and he eventually drifts off to sleep in my arms, we reach my condo and I carry him to my bed and lay him down. I go to stand up but he has a vice grip on my jacket, I try to get him to release me but he only cuddles closer. I smile, same Wey Ying, he has always clutched me in his sleep.

I lean closer to him "Let go baobei I need to change clothes."

He pouts in his sleep but doesn't let go "Come on my love, loosen your grip so I can join you."

Surprisingly he does and I stand up and leave the room I grab my cell phone and call Xichen "Hello, how did the fundraiser go Wangji?"

"Gege I need you to do something for me, first thing in the morning," I say urgently.

"What do you need Wangji?" he asks.

"I need you to contact the Weys and give an offer of marriage for Wey Ying," I state boldly.

Xichen coughs "Isn't it a bit soon for that didi?"

I shake my head and tell him what I heard and what happened "I don't want him to offer for Wey Ying before we do. He tried to force him gege, but he passed out and is here with me now. If you have to, lie and say that his virtue has been compromised, I don't care what you have to do to get them to agree."

Xichen hums "Mn I understand, I will do everything I can to make it happen, don't worry didi."

"Thank you gege, call me the second you get the approval alright?" I say with a sense of relief.

"I will Wangji, go take care of him and I'll talk to you tomorrow." he chuckles.

We hang up and I change both of us into night clothes. I climb in beside him and look at his face, every detail is the same down to the sexy little mole under his lip. I smile as I watch him sleep, my heart is full and my soul is complete with him by my side. 

He mumbles something unintelligible in his sleep and then becomes restless until he is lying half on me with his head on my chest, exactly the way he has always slept with me. I wrap my arms around him and settle myself down to sleep.
