My dear readers,

Thank you for your patience and understanding, I have pneumonia and have been sick in bed for several days. I'm sorry it took so long for me to get this chapter out but I finally felt good enough to do more than just respond to comments on my book chapters. Hopefully, I can get back to posting somewhat regularly as long as I continue to feel better.

Wey Ying's POV

We spend the allotted time in the cold pond before Lan Zhan helps me with my clothes and carries me back to Jingshi. So many things here have changed, become more modern versions of themselves and other things have remained the same as if time doesn't exist. The bamboo forest has gotten thicker but still seems to remain the same as it did a few thousand years ago when I lived here with my husband, son, brother-in-law and clan. I feel like I am in both worlds right now and it's surreal, just give me my sword, a hanfu and some long hair extensions and I would feel like I was living two thousand years ago. I giggle to myself at the thought of it and alert the man holding me.

"What's so funny Wey Ying?" He looks down at me while he carries me.

I huff out a laugh "I was just thinking that so many things here are the same as they were millennia ago that all I need is my sword, a hanfu and some hair extensions and I could look just like I did back then, it made me giggle thinking about it."

He smirks at me "We can arrange that if you want."

I shake my head and laugh "No, no Lan Zhan I was just thinking, I don't really want to do it but being back here does make me want to grow my hair out."

He hums "Mn, I like you with both long and short hair so I will like whatever you choose."

I look up at him and smile "You are biased because you love me."

He nods "Mn"

I pout and cross my arms "Stop that Lan Zhan, use your words."

Several disciples stop and watch us with their mouths hanging open shocked that I would dare scold the great Hanguang Jun, I just pout harder and he looks down at me and smirks "Fine, you win Wey Ying."

The same disciples are taken aback as they hear his response to my scolding and I smile "Thank you Lan Zhan I love you."

He holds me tighter "I love you too baobei."

When we get back to Jingshi he puts me down on the couch with a blanket covering my legs and gets me a cup of hot tea "You will need to reacclimate yourself to the climate here, it's colder than the city so you might feel a chill for a bit until you get used to it again."

I nod "I figured but Lan Zhan I really want a hot bath, I'm still cold from the cold pond."

He nods "I have already started running the bath for you baobei and our food should be here soon so you can eat after you warm up in the bath."

I smile "Sounds great, I already feel a little bit better Lan Zhan, like I have some of my energy back. I'm not hurting as much either but that could just be from the cold, I'm not sure."

He picks me up and takes me into the bathroom and sits me on the counter. He removes my clothes and picks me up putting me in the steaming water of the bath.

As soon as I am submerged in the water I sigh in contentment. "Lan Zhan this feels amazing, you should join me."

He squats down beside me and starts washing my body "Not this time baobei I won't control myself if I do and you need to heal more. We have plenty of time for me to join you in our bath soon enough for now just let me care for you until you are healed."
