"Doctors on the other line
'Cause he's not coming home tonight
And I just took my very last pill..." - Elsie 911 song

NOTE: BIPOLAR NICK AU AND ABUSIVE NICK

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
July 23rd ; 11:08 P.M.
"Open the fucking door, Charlie!" I hear Nick scream as he bangs on my door, the hinges rattling at each hit. I sit in the corner of my room near my drum set, holding my phone in my hands, the numbers 911 dialed into my phone. I'm shaking, crying, and holding my breath as I try to hide from the monster outside.
"I know you're in there, Charlie! Don't try to fucking hide from me you son of a bitch!" I hear Nick scream once more as he keeps beating on the door, screaming and yelling obscenities as he tries to get through the door. I stare at the numbers dialed into my phone, contemplating whether or not to call them, my mind shifting to the screaming outside.
July 23rd; 9:24 P.M.
"Charlie, take a beer! Enjoy your time before we go back to school!" Darcy says as she waves a beer in my face, the smell of alcohol on her breath. I give in and grab the beer from her hands and my friends start cheering, happy I decided to drink with them tonight.
We're in the forest having a bonfire and party before school starts, the whole school joining together to have fun. I'm with all the girls and Tao while Nick hangs out with his rugby pals, drinking and playing games with them a few meters away.
We're all sitting on a large picnic towel Elle brought and chatting while drinking, reminiscing on old school memories.
"So, wanna play a game guys?" Tao asks as he takes a sip of his beer. Everyone agrees and we start playing.
July 23rd; 10:31
"Charlieeee, I don't want to leave yettt," Nick nags as he grabs my shoulder. I tap his arm and kiss him on his head before turning to the girls and Tao.
"Okay guys, we're going to my house to crash cause Nick drank a little too much, have fun!" I yell over the loud music as I wrap my arms around Nick's waist and wave my friends goodbye. They all yell their goodbyes across the field as we start walking away.
Luckily, my house is only around a 15 minute walk from the field so there's no need to drive or call a ride. I steady Nick with my arm and help him walk across the pathway that leads out of the field.
"Charlie, I said I didn't want to leaveeee!" Nick yells in my ear as we keep walking. I smell the alcohol on his breath as he yells in my ear.
"You're wasted Nick! You don't know what you want or need right now," I tell him as I keep helping him walk. He stays silent for the next few minutes as we start to walk on the sidewalk towards my house, my house only 7 minutes away now.
"Lets go back Charlie, I'll be okay!" Nick yells once more.
"No Nick! We're going home and I'm putting you to sleep!" I say. He suddenly pushes off on my arm and stands a few feet away from me. I turn and look at him and sigh his face flushed from all the alcohol he's drunk. I reach my hand out to grab him but he slaps my arm away.
"Stop acting like my Mum, Charlie!" He screams out.
"I'm just trying to take care of you!" I respond.
"Well, I don't want you too. Actually, I think you deserve a lesson for how fucking annoying you've been," Nick says as he rubs his fists together. I look him up and down and suddenly remember.
"Charlie, remember that alcohol affects his medicine so watch him please," Nicks mum said as she held my hands.
Fuck.
I turn around and start running to my house, hearing Nick's footsteps chasing behind me. My breathing starts to fasten as I feel him right on my footsteps. I see my house a fasten my pace, praying that my parents has gotten home from dinner already. As I near my house I search for my parents car, but it's not there.
Fuck
I swerve to the right and enter my driveway and see our garbage bin and quickly push it over so Nick trips over it. I hear a tumble and assume he tripped and ran up to the door and slam it open and ran upstairs.
I ran up the stairs and all the way to my room before slamming the door shut and searching around my room for things to barricade my door with. I look at my bedside dresser and quickly start to push it across my carpeted floor all the way in front of my door. I hear thudding noises get closer to my door and grunts and heavy breathing. I look around my room once more for something to defend myself with in the worse case scenario and grab my drum sticks a wedge myself behind my drum set and sit on the floor.
I take a deep breath and run my hands over my face and notice that I'm shaking.
"I know you're there Charlie! Get the fuck out here, someone needs to teach you a lesson for once in your goddamn life!" Nick yells as he bangs on my door, the floor shaking from his beats.
I quickly reach in my pocket and grab my phone and dial 9-1-1 in my number pad but stop.
I look at the door and shiver at the thought of calling the police on my boyfriend, yet I don't want him to hurt me or himself.
"Charlie... come out, I won't hurt you," Nick says, yet I know he's lying. His Mum informed me of his disorder when we started dating, sitting me down at their dinner table to have a talk.
He had gotten diagnosed with it when he was 13, the death of his childhood dog triggering for him to attempt to harm his family but then he had passed out and forgotten the whole ordeal. His grandfather had had Bipolar disorder as well as it ran through his family.
I looked down at my phone and clicked the green call button and the line started to ring. I lifted the phone up to my ear and heard the noise indicating the operator had answered.
"OPEN THE GODDAMN DOOR CHARLIE I'M NOT PLAYING ANY FUCKING MORE WITH YOU," Nick screamed as he continued to bang on my door. Tears streamed down my face as I heard the operator speak up.
"Hello this is 9-1-1, how many I assist you?"
"Nine one one, I need someone. My baby plays me like a game I'm not having fun," I muttered as Nick continued to scream at me through my door.
"Sir, is someone about to harm you?" she asks.
"Please send officers to XXXXX, my boyfriend, he's about to hurt me. Come fast please," I say as I click hang up and drop my phone on the floor next to me. I start to cry and sob and run my hands across my face as I wait for the cops to arrive. Three minutes pass and I hear sirens start to resonate in the streets.
Suddenly, the door knob starts rattling and the door gets cracked open and I see Nick staring at me through the crack. I freeze and lose the grip I had on my drumsticks. Nick starts to push the door open and move the dresser with it and I notice he has a knife in his hand.
The world goes silent and my heart race skyrockets and my fight or flight instincts kick in.
I chose flight.
I push my body up with the help of the wall and as soon as he slams the door open and starts to walk towards me I dart under him and through the door. I run down the stairs and I see the door but hear Nick behind me, his footsteps only a few inches behind me. I slam the door open and fall into the hands of a female officer. She notices Nick and pushes me to the side and draws her gun and shoots Nick in the foot. He falls down and drops the knife.
I lay on the ground, my body aching from falling on the hard pavement.
I hear more sirens in the background and a cop walks up to me and reaches his hand out to help me.
"You're gonna be okay son," he says.
