The Concert Disaster PT.2

Elles POV:

I was jumping up and down and singing my life out to the music being played. I could hear the beads in my hair clashing together.

I was wearing low rise pink pants with a white mesh shirt that only covered my chest. I had pink beads in my hair and pink bracelets. My makeup included a bright pink eye shadow and pink and white starts around my eyes.

I was dancing and jumping around, when I turned to talk to Charlie.

"Hey Charlie isn't this a good son-", I start to say before I notice that Charlie isn't here. Nobody is. Nobody accept Tao.

"Um, the crowd separated us?", Tao says as he gets closer to me and holds onto my arm. I blush a little before settling myself down.

Me and Tao have been dating for 3 years now. He asked me out at a coffee shop and gave me roses and everything. Ever since, we've been dating. We even go to the same college. My major is humanities and social sciences and his major is computer programming.

"Yeah" I mumble out loud. We both keep singing and chanting the words in the song. We both kiss a couple times, I even make social media posts. We were all having a good time. Tonight was the most perfect night. I was with my boyfriend, at a concert, and was expressing myself freely.

Strike 2

"Hey Tao, i'm going to the restroom", I say as I look down at my boyfriend. He nods his head and then I set off into the crowd. I weave through people and then when I finally make it out I almost trip. I somehow catch myself. I started my search for the bathroom. I looked around for a few minutes before seeing the sign on a wall.

"Finally", I sigh as I start to walk towards the bathroom and open the door to the bathroom. I quickly go into a stall and use the bathroom. A large group of girls then barges in.

"My boyfriend is the best! I never thought this would be so fun!" A girl says as she slams the door closed. I can hear all the girls laughing and agreeing with her.

I quickly finish using the restroom to leave my stall and wash my hands. I then hear a scream.

"THERE'S A MAN IN THE RESTROOM" One of the girls screams out loud. I start to look around but then notice what they mean.

I'm the dude.

"Oh, I'm a girl actually" I explain as I start to get closer, attempting to reach the sink. The girls scream again then back up to the wall.

"DON'T TOUCH ME, I HAVE A BOYFRIEND", Another girl yells, showing me a ring on her finger, I chuckle in response.

"I have a boyfriend too, don't worry?", I say in an awkward tone.

"Oh so you two are fags?" One of the girls laugh.

"No, I'm a girl", I say in a sassy tone.

"No you're not, so get out of this restroom before I accuse you of r@ pe." A girl says as she starts to type on her phone.

"I am a woman, not biologically though. If I'm making you uncomfortable I'll just leave", I say as I grab a towel to wipe my hands and leave the bathroom.

I understand that people may be uncomfortable around trans people, but making threats towards them? That makes my blood boil.

As a kid, I knew I was a female. And when I came out, my family was confused but understanding. They automatically helped me start my journey of transitioning. The worst part was the people. The people who didn't understand me. I know that some people may be uncomfortable if they have gone through something. But threats?

A tear goes down my eyes as I start to text in Tao, asking him to meet me at the hot dog stand near the entrance. I start to walk to the stand, humming along to the music blasting in the background when I feel something hit me.

I turn my head and it was a piece of ice.

Is it hailing?

I then hear familiar laughs.

It's the girls from the bathroom, but this time they're with their boyfriends. They all start to throw food at me and yell degrading things at me.

"YOU F@G"

"You really think you're a girl?"

"Nobody wants a chick with a d!ck"

"I FEEL BAD FOR YOUR BOYFRIEND"

I started to cry a bit. More food gets thrown at me and people are starting to crowd. I started to run.

I ran away.

I ran anywhere but where the girls were. I didn't care in what direction I was going. Tears were running down my face and the food thrown at me started to stain my clothes. I started looking around, hoping to see Tao, Charlie, anyone at this point. I then see Tara and Darcy at a lemonade stand. I stand there. I let people walk past me, bump into me. I felt as if I was in a movie scene.

Suddenly I heard Tara and Darcy, they were now next to me.

"Hey Elle! You okay? Why's there food on you?" Darcy says as she starts to wipe off some food with a napkin handed to her by Tara.

"Girls", I mumbled. They both looked confused.

"Um lets come sit on this bench", Tara says as she grabs my wrist and leads me to a bench a couple feet away.

"What do you mean by girls Elle?" Darcy asks me as she hands me water and a napkin.

"These girls. They...they were being transphobic towards me. They threatened to tell people I r@ped them if I didn't leave the bathroom. Their boyfriend. They threw food at me and humiliated me in front of everyone", I cried. Tears were going down my face as I explained. They both nodded along then grabbed my arm.

"We'll be back, k?" They both say in unison. I nod my head and keep drinking my water as they walks away.

5 minutes pass.

10 minutes pass.

15 minutes pass.

I get tired of waiting and start walking around. I pulled my phone out and saw dozens of messages and missed calls from Tao. As soon as I tried to call him, my phone went dead.

I sighed and kept walking, I then saw a familiar cowboy hat. I start to walk faster and see a crying Charlie Spring and a worried Tao Xu. I walk up to them and drop myself next to Tao. He's rubbing circles on Charlie's back. He must have had an episode.

A few minutes later Tara and Darcy find us, proud faces. They take over Tao's job and I start to sob into his chest. Moments later Victoria, Micheal and Nick find us. Nick hands Charlie a pill and he takes it then collapses on Nick.

We all sit there.

'BOOM'
