Chapter 1 | The Start

After a few months after Sunny and Basil had confessed everything in the hospital, the group dissolved a bit and Sunny ended up moving away.
He still keeps in contact with Aubrey and Kel.
Despite this, he has refrained from talking to Basil a bit, currently Basil has been going to the psychologist and they have even ended up sending him to the psychiatrist too...
Basil is trying to deal with the sense of guilt that still attacks him despite having confessed, he still feels a little bad because he can no longer have his best friend around.
On the other hand, Aubrey and Sunny write to each other a little more often and have managed to reconnect like before, although they are still both embarrassed to get closer after so long. Sunny sometimes saves some photos that Aubrey uploads to one of her networks or that she sends to him sometimes, he has them in his gallery and even prints some and hangs them on his wall as a way of cheer himself up.
Although sometimes he stays admiring those photos and feeling that tingling in his stomach like when he was 12 years old and saw his friend whom he liked so much... Sunny always wondered if maybe, at some point, someday, somehow she would have felt the same way. But he tried to erase those thoughts because, in the end, he lives far away and it wouldn't work.
Aubrey text to him in the afternoon as she has been accustomed to doing lately.
Aubrey:"Hey Sun, did you know they sent Basil to a psychiatrist? Hmm... I'm not surprised, he definitely has a problem"
Sunny looks at her phone almost immediately when he notices that the message is from Aubrey, although when he opens it his smile fades a little, he didn't expect to receive that kind of news about his best friend, at least not that kind...
Sunny:"What?..."
Aubrey: "Yes, it seems like his emotional problems have been reaching a bit of a peak. I thought he was already getting better with that."
Sunny: "Have you been to see him? Has anyone seen him?"...
Aubrey: "oh you know my relationship with him isn't the best... And Kel's family went on vacation so he hasn't been able to visit him either"
Sunny:" but... I'm worried, I didn't think he would come to that..."
Aubrey: "oh well, you know how he's like..."
Sunny: "No... I have to go there, I can't let him be alone in a situation like that."
Aubrey:"After everything he did? Really?"
Sunny: "Please Aubrey, we were kids... We didn't know what we were doing"
Aubrey: "Where are you supposed to come? I can't have you here, you know? My house is a mess..."
Sunny: "I know... I'll stay camping in the forest, maybe that can work"
Aubrey: "What?! That's dangerous, are you crazy?! I don't want you to get hurt, you dumb!!"
Sunny blushes reading that, he feels his cheeks suddenly become warm... Oh no, his heart is racing right now too.
Aubrey: "If you're going to do something stupid like that, at least take something to protect yourself..."
Sunny is still nervous about what Aubrey told him
Sunny:"yes, don't worry..."
Aubrey:"...So when are you going to come?... You know, to escort you when you arrive, weakling"
Sunny: "Umm... I'll try to go out today, I have to tell my mom what I'm going to do..."
Sunny leaves the phone on the table for a moment and takes a breath before picking it up and calling his mother, she's at work. At first she hesitates but after a few minutes of conversation she agrees. Sunny begins to prepare his things, a backpack, the tent, a bottle among other things. He buys a ticket online and takes the first bus he can, The road will be long, at least three hours, but for him it's not long since he spends all his time talking to Aubrey via text during that time.
Basil on the other hand is about to be sent to a psychiatric hospital, his parents think that perhaps it is for the best since his behaviors have been very self-destructive lately. Basil is horrified by this and feels his heart sink as not even Polly can do anything to stop him from being committed so he decides to make a very bad decision...
