Chapter 4 | Cloudy day

After eating breakfast and paying, Sunny and Aubrey head almost immediately to see Basil, walking to Basil's house to find out what has been happening.
Basil clearly wanted company but at the same time he felt too bad to even get out of his bed so he hadn't even noticed someone knocking on the door.
Poly had to go to the door and open it to find Basil's childhood friends at the door, a little surprised she invited them in.

She sits with them on the couch and they start talking, Basil hasn't even noticed that his friends have arrived there, he is still sad as he sees one of the flowers in his room and caresses it with melancholy.

Poly: "He's in his room... He's been crying all night, I can't do anything to stop them from taking him to the psychiatric..." She says worried "maybe it's good for him but I'm worried about how they will treat him there, I feel like they won't take care of him like I do."

Sunny:"I'm also worried, Basil is not very good at dealing with those things, maybe I should talk to him-" Aubrey interrupts him.

Aubrey: "Be careful with what you say to him, Basil can be unpredictable sometimes you don't know how he's going to react to seeing you now after you've been gone for almost half a year..." She says a little more seriously "I don't want him to hurt you again."

Sunny: "Eh?... Don't worry about that, I already forgive him for what he did, maybe the eyepatch makes me look better, don't you think?" He says trying to lower the tension

Aubrey:"Sure..." She says, softening her expression a little.

Poly: "I know Basil has made mistakes but I feel like he is more vulnerable than ever now..."

Suddenly Basil comes out of his room, his eyes are swollen and his hair is a little messy from crying so much.

Basil: "H-hey Poly, have you seen my-" He looks up and notices that Sunny and Aubrey are there "S-Sunny?..." Once again he feels like crying, he starts to shake a little

Sunny: "Hello Basil..." He says with his typical neutral expression although a little worried too

Basil: "What are you doing here?... I thought you were in town, I thought... And Aubrey? I didn't expect to see you here either..." His voice is a little shaky, he feels nervous but a little happy to see them as well.

Aubrey looked away a little, she wasn't upset but she felt a little uncomfortable now. Sunny also looked down at the ground but out of nervousness.

Basil: "You guys didn't just come to see me, right?... I guess you already know, you probably think I've gone crazy, I'm so sorry..."

Tears begin to fall down Basil's cheeks.

Basil:"I'm sorry, I-I'm so sorry...Everything that happened has made me feel so bad, I can't stand it..." he says while trying to wipe away his tears. He started to feel afraid again...
Sunny stood up and faced him.

Sunny:"I came to tell you that um... I hope you recover soon, you can handle this... Don't be afraid, they just want to take care of you..."

Basil:"N-No... I feel like they just want to lock me up, trap me like I'm crazy, am I that bad? Tell me Sunny, I AM?!"

Basil had raised his voice and Sunny was a little scared, backing away, Aubrey stood between them just in case.

Aubrey: "Stop behaving like that" she says annoyed "I understand your concern, but you don't need to raise your voice Basil."

Basil: "...I don't think you hace the rigth to tell me that. Please let me talk to Sunny, I just want to talk to my friend before they put him in a prison for the insane people"

Basil says out of impulse, out of desperation and with a little ignorance.

Aubrey: "You can't even think of saying that... And no, I can't let you get too close to Sunny, I can't risk you attacking him again."

Basil: "Ehh?!? Stop treating me like a crazy person!! You're just like them!!" Basil cries more "I don't want to hurt him, you know why I did it, I, I..." He realizes that he has no arguments now...

Aubrey: "Just try to keep yourself under control, if you do anything to Sunny I promise that I-" Sunny interrupts

Sunny: "Calm down... All this discussion is not necessary." He looks at Basil "I just came to say goodbye for now... I hope everything goes well, I will try to contact you when you are discharged from the psychiatric hospital"

Basil: "D-did you just come for that? But but... I don't know how long I'll be there, I thought you were going to try... I don't know, try to help me from being put in there."

Sunny: "I won't help with that... It's dangerous and you know that if they sent you it's for a reason"

Basil: "Are you going to abandon me again?... AGAIN!? I was always loyal to you, always ALWAYS... Why are you doing this to me Sunny?... Why are you leaving me behind like always? Everyone does the same thing to me... I thought I was your friend, I thought I was your best friend..."

Sunny: "Please Basil..."

Basil: "NO!! You are a traitor..."

Basil goes into his room slamming the door, crying hysterically, he feels very hurt right now. Aubrey and Sunny stand in the living room, Poly just looks at the floor with concern.

Poly:"Don't worry... He just needs time, I already made sure he doesn't have anything to hurt himself with in his room so he'll be fine..."
Poly gets up and directs Sunny and Aubrey to the exit.

Poly:"Thank you guys for your visit, let me know if you're coming tomorrow... Basil's transfer had to be delayed because, well, you know... He escaped earlier, I'll wait for you tomorrow."

Sunny and Aubrey nod a little worried as they say goodbye and walk out of the house.

Sunny:"Will you come tomorrow?"

Aubrey:"After that I don't really want to come again... You will come right?"

Sunny:"I think so... but umm... Can you do me a favor?"

Aubrey: "Sure"

Sunny: "Please come with me tomorrow, I know you probably don't want to but..."

Aubrey sighed before looking into Sunny's eyes.

Aubrey: "Fine... But only because you're asking me and besides, I don't want something to get out of control..."

They both walk away and she puts his arm around him, Sunny felt a slight tingle and looked at the ground immediately. It was a nice, warm feeling after a tense moment,Although it may not seem like it, Aubrey also feels good to have Sunny around and is a little flustered to have made that move with him but she is happy to have him around.
