It was a weird hour of the day when Hyojin opened his eyes again. Everything felt like a daze and pain bled from places he didn't even know could hurt. What had yesterday been? Nothing felt tangible and it took more minutes than usual to get conscious of his surroundings.
With a grunt he turned his aching body around and his hand touched something unfamiliar. Something leathery.
Adrenaline fueled his entire system and he jolted to a sitting position. As quickly as the rush had come, it left again. It was just one of the large wings. Seungjun was still asleep, only stirring at the sudden movement.
Hyojin let out a breath and hoped it would still his racing heart.
The wing was draped over his lap, above the blanket. The weight felt nice, grounding his hazy body ever so slightly. A hand subconsciously went to touch the rough scales following the shape and the texture made his fingers tremble, but he didn't pull away. His eyes glanced over the pattern until the bright colour turned to black.
While Seungjun's position had adjusted, he still laid on his stomach. The large burn had shrunk a little and seemed almost fully closed. There was still a shimmer over the skin but no blood or fluid.
Hyojin pushed himself to the side to slip from under the two blankets and got out of bed. The second he put pressure on his right leg, a bolt shot through it and he had to suppress a noise. With an awkward hop, he got to his little bathroom and went to inspect the damages.
His ankle boasted half the colours of the rainbow and multiple blue spots were scattered over his body. At least none of his wounds were open anymore, but some were throbbing—at least, as far as he could quickly conclude. From his muscles to his injuries, Hyojin couldn't tell which pain had what origin, and he couldn't be bothered to figure it all out. After taking pain killers, putting ointment on a few places and drinking a full glass of water, he headed back to bed.
"Is everything alright?" he heard when opening the bathroom door.
"Yes, I just needed some water."
"Can I have some too?" Seungjun asked, his voice lazy and raspy.
Hyojin gave a nod and went to fetch another cup. "How are you feeling?"
"No idea," Seungjun answered with a breathy chuckle. "Tired, I guess."
"Me too."
The water was handed over and emptied in the same second. "Thank you."
"No problem. I'm going back to sleep."
"Yeah, me too," Seungjun nodded. "Can... Can I stay here for that?"
"Of course." Hyojin yawned mindlessly. "Stay as long as you like."

The sun was going down on an unknown day and Changyun was sure that if it weren't for his stomach, he would've slept until the next sunrise.
"Good morning," Minkyun smiled, his face lit up by the screen of his phone.
Changyun only produced a hum as a response before clearing his throat. "Is it morning?" he asked, wondering if he had misjudged the low sunlight coming from the half drawn curtains.
"No it isn't." Minkyun put his device away and laid on his side, leaning on an elbow. "It's about five in the afternoon."
"Doesn't feel like it."
"Absolutely not, but I can't get out of bed even if I wanted to."
Changyun shot up. "Why? What's wrong?"
