Ben's pov:
Slenderman stood up and reached out his hand. I drew my own to my chest, unsure as to what to do. "Take my hand child. We must introduce you to the other." I swallowed the lump forming in my throat. I noticed how my hand was shaking slightly as I took Slenderman's hand. I closed my eyes, waiting for the crushing of my hand. Like my father does, his nails dug into my skin. More often then not drawing blood.
I waited for the pain to start. But instead felt warm fingers brush against my hand. Warm against the chill of my body. Gentle and careful, like he's trying to avoid crushing my hand. "Before we leave. Everyone has a title. It varied from person to person. Do you have one yet?" I took a second to think. I've been in a game for three years. I know sometimes I see Link. I see someone playing. The werid thing is I can hear them too.
The first voice I heard was the one of someone I kinda knew. One of my bullies little brother. He played the game. I'd go up to him trying to understand what's going on. But he'd freak out everytime. As time progressed I heard people say a name anytime they'd see me. Ben Drowned. I don't know why. Why did they reference to my death? At least I think I died that day. It hurt, but I guess it's true.
"I......I think I do." I paused looking up. Slenderman nodded, encouraging me to continue. "When... when people play my game... they call me-. They call me, B-Ben D-Drowned.." I couldn't ignore how tears pricked my eyes. It hurt saying that. Why'd they name me off of the worst thing that happened to me? "Ahh, I've heard of you then. I was wondering when I'd meet you. Benjamin." Slenderman didn't seem mad, but happy I guess. And relieved, but why? Slenderman took a small step forward. One small enough that I could follow.
He opened the door and left, I followed behind him like a lost puppy. Which is what I felt like. I felt so lost..... We went down down stairs and the first thing I saw was Dark. He was standing by the two guys earlier. They seemed to be talking but all three of them looked towards us as we stepped in. Excitement in all of their gazes. I wordlessly pressed myself closer to Slenderman. I didn't like this attention. "Everyone, as you can tell. We have a new member. This is Benjamin, I expect you all to treat him nicely."
Everyone nodded going back to whatever they were doing. Dark and the two other guys came over. "Congrats Ben, you're one of us." He smiled, glancing at the other two. "Heya kid, I heard you're a glitch. I'm Glitchy Red, you can call me either Glitchy or Red. I respond to both." He smiled offering his hand. Slenderman gently nudged me infront of him, towards them. I nervously nodded in greeting and shook his hand. His hand didn't try to crush my own, he greeted me with a smile. Like a family member, instead of a freak.
The guy in the wheelchair looked excited but really nervous. Red seemed to notice this and spoke for him. "This is my buddy Lost Silver. He doesn't talk much but I'm sure he'll warm up eventually." He nodded to Lost. Who smiled shyly and nodded in greeting. "W-welcome." He mumbled. "Thanks." I said. I get how hard it is to talk to people. Dark crouched down to my level. "Now kiddo, we have one more member. His name is Herobrine. He isn't around often. But he'll most likely be the one taking over your training. We'll teach you what we can." He gave me a reassuring smile. I nodded, noticing how someone else was walking up.
"So you're the newbie. He said from the side. He wore a blood stained white hoodie, had long black hair, his skin was white like paper. And he had a smile carved into his cheeks, black surrounded his eyes, which were light blue. Dark stood up and slightly stepped off to the side. The guy looked me up and down. It was only as I took a step back did I notice Slenderman was gone. This guy was terrifying. "Name's Jeff. Have fun kid." The guy introduced himself and walked away. Dark scoffed. "Woah that went better than I thought it would." I could help but wonder why.
Dark, Glitchy, and a begrudging Silver introduce me to some other people. Then they dragged me around the house. Acquainting me with the place as they said. Once that was done, we went to Dark's room. I settled by Dark who was on the bed. Glitchy and Silver sat infront of us. "So since you're a glitch. You're apart of our category, aka our group. So I assume you're a gamer." Glitchy asked looking excited. I ducked my head nervously. "W-well I wouldn't say that. I only played a N64...." I mummered. The three of them exchanged looks. "Another Nintendo." They all announced at once.
My head shot up glancing a the three. Dark laughed before explaining. "We all came from Nintendo systems, they made the N64. I come from a Wii U. Glitchy and Silver both come from DS." My head tilted curiously at the names. "I've never heard of them..." Which was followed by silence. "Well we got to change that!" Glitchy announced, Silver nodding his head. I blushed and tilted my head down. I felt Dark glitch besides me. Dispearing to who knows where. "B-Ben," I looked up to see Silver. "I-I get it... b-but i-it's o-oh kay. W-we'll teach you e-everything you need to k-know." He gave a nervous but reassuring smile. Glitchy clapping his back, saying something about being proud of him. I nodded thankful for his support. Maybe things were going to be alright... Just maybe
