Jay, still processing the revelation about his adoption, was further surprised when his father continued the conversation.

"Jay, I also need to tell you this," z at his father began, his voice tinged with regret. "Over the years, your biological mother attempted to reach out to us multiple times, but your mother and I decided to reject her attempts."

Jay's heart ached with a mix of emotions. He hadn't known about these attempts, and the complexity of his family history added a new layer of sadness to the situation.

"Why, Dad? Why did you reject her?" Jay asked, his voice filled with curiosity and concern.

His father sighed, his eyes filled with remorse. "It's a difficult and painful decision we made, and I want you to understand why. When you were adopted, your biological mother was very young and in a challenging situation. She didn't have the means to raise a child, and we were concerned about her ability to provide for you. We thought we were making the best choice for your future by raising you in a stable and loving environment."

Jay nodded, trying to understand his parents' perspective. "I see, Dad. It was a difficult decision, and I trust that you did what you believed was best for me."

His father continued, "We wanted to give you the best possible life, and we didn't want you to feel torn between two families. But now that the truth is out, you have the option to make a choice about whether you want to reach out to your biological mother or not. It's a decision we leave entirely in your hands."

Jay appreciated his father's honesty and the choice that was now available to him. The revelation added a layer of complexity to his understanding of his identity and his family history. It was a lot to process, but Jay knew that he had the love and support of both his adoptive family and his parents, and that he would make the right decision for himself in due time.
