No Longer Afraid

I Knew You Were Brave

Days before Halloween, the boys enjoy some free time after shooting an episode for one of their shows held at a haunted village.

They gathered in a group, talking and teasing the ones who were afraid to go into the apocalyptic house of horror. They had agreed to go as a group but were having trouble convincing Yoongi and Hobi to go in.

Strangely, Tae is excited about the House of Horror. As they are talking, a very pretty young lady walks up to Tae and gives him a back hug. He turns, smiling his boxy smile at her.

"Hi Jaejae."

You smile up at him as you let go, "Hi, Taetae."

Jungkook starts laughing, "JaeJae and TaeTae, really?"

Tae looks at him, and before he can scold Kooki, you stand in front of Jungkook, hands on your hips, glaring, and say singsong, "Jaykay, JaeJae, and TaeTae." You tilt your head at him, "Now that's funny!" and start laughing.

Jungkook glares back at you. Tae says, "Oh, sorry, I should have introduced you, but you made fun of her nickname."

Tae turns to you, smiling, "This is Jungkook. I told you about him."

You giggle, and Jungkook gets a confused look on his face.

Tae re-introduces you to the others, as it has been a couple of years since you last met them. Knowing about Hobi's fear, you and Tae hope tonight will result in him being able not to be so scared about Halloween or spooky things.

 You don't know it, but Tae hopes it will also bring you and Hobi together. Since meeting you a couple of years ago, you're all Hobi likes to talk about. Tae is hoping his plan for you works out as well tonight.

You walk over to Hobi and take his hand. "Come with me," you say. Then you start to pull him towards the house of horrors.

He tries to pull away, "No, thank you. I'm not going in there." You notice a bead of sweat breaking out across his forehead.

You keep pulling him along, not letting go, reassuring him, "It's okay; I'll protect you." You hear the others softly laughing at you, saying you'll protect him. You smile back at Tae and wink.

Hobi, still trying to resist, says, "It says closed."

 He looks back at the guys, hoping for support, but they are busy listening to something Tae is saying. Taehyung was explaining the plans for the evening.

Yoongi asks Tae, "Can you find a cute girl to hold my hand and take me through a dark house?" 

Everyone laughs, and Hobi can't hear what they are talking about, so he turns back towards you.

You smile at him, "It will be ok, trust me."

He gives a doubtful smile but then takes a deep breath of courage and says, "Okay, let's do this."

You give him a bright smile, "I knew you were brave!"

With extreme trepidation, he is right behind you, holding your hand tightly. You knew your hand would never be the same for two reasons: one, he is holding it so tightly, and two, he is holding it. You softly sigh.

As far as horror houses go, this one looks pretty tame to Hobi. As they enter the house, he relaxes a little, thinking, 'This can't be too bad.'

Then, as the front door closes, "ARRGH!!" A zombie has suddenly jumped out in front of him. Who screamed the loudest you couldn't tell.

You laugh at the zombie, "Hi, Mackey, how's it going?"

The zombie leans against the wall, "Great. How about you, Jaejae?"

Hobi is standing there, his hand still over his heart to prevent it from escaping from his chest, as he waits for his heartbeat to slow down. He watches the interaction between the zombie and Jaejae.

"I'm glad it's check-up time. Could you fix this for me, Jae?" he turns and shows you where his falling off flesh shouldn't be falling off.

"Sure." You reach into your bag and get out a small bottle. You apply special glue to his skin, gently blowing it until it feels tacky. 

The zombie grins as he watches Hobi staring at your mouth as you blow breath on the side of his neck. Once the glue is tacky, you reattach the latex flesh.

"There you go. That should hold till the end of shift."

He gives you a quick zombie kiss on the cheek, "Thanks, love."

You tell him, "You have to stop kissing the girls when they come in. It keeps coming off when they slap you." 

He laughs and then looks at Hobi. "Who is this handsome man with you? Is he a new zombie to be?"

You laugh, "No, no, this is Tae's friend Hobi." You turn to Hobi, "Hobi, this is Mackey, "Mackey, this is Hobi."

Hobi nods, "Nice to meet you."

"Mutual," says Mackay.

You laugh as you start to move on. Noticing that Hobi is standing there in wonder, you reach back, take hold of Hobi's hand, and begin walking away. The zombie waves, and meekly, Hobi waves back.
