After the deb tea Cordelia found Belly and asked what had happened earlier. She blushed as she explained "Well the other night at the bonfire I met this really sweet guys from a Latin convention I did as a kid. 

The moment Belly said boy Cordelia's brain went into hyperactive mode "What's his name?" she asked. 

Belly smiled at his name "Cameron." she sighed "He's super sweet and smart. When I saw him outside during the tea I went to talk to him and-well..."

Cordelia gasped and covered her mouth before asking "Omg does my little Belly have a date?"

She squealed "Yeah" She told Cordelia where he was taking her "We're going to see a drive in movie tonight"

"What you seeing? Is it something romantic?" she teased her friend. 

"I don't know, honestly I don't mind. It's just this is it I can move on from Conrad and I can be happy with Cameron. He's just so sweet and so perfect." Belly exclaimed excitedly. 

When they got home Susannah was just as excited as Belly about the date so she and Cordelia helped her get ready. 

Belly looked at herself in the mirror turning sightly to see how the outfit looked. "You look really cute. You are gonna have so much fun tonight." Susannah told her. 

Belly smiled "We're just going to see a movie."

Laurel strolled past the door "You look nice, hon." 

Cordelia's mom smiled "I can't believe crop tops are back. Remember how I thought I was such hot shit in that baby tee I wore freshman year?" 

Belly wished her mom good luck as everyone headed downstairs "Have fun tonight."

Laurels face twisted into confusion "Are you not driving with us?" 

"Um... Didn't Belly tell you?" Cordelia asked Laurel gazing between her and Belly. She smiled "She has a date."

Belly shrugged as Laurel gasped "Sorry, Mom. Um, his name is Cam. Yeah, his mom works at the club. Really nice boy, very smart. Like, Harvard smart."

"It's fine." Laurel laughed "Of course you can go. I've dragged you to enough of these book parties over the years. Have a great date." 

"Thanks." Belly said appreciatively. 

Laurel paused and turned serious "Do we need to talk about consent before you go?". This caused Cordelia to burst out laughing, from what Belly had told her about Cameron it seemed like that wasn't going to be an issue. "Mom." Belly groaned.

Cordelia and Belly headed downstairs and they could see the boys playing video games together on the tv. "Full team, full team, full team. Okay, I'm coming, coming right now. Wait. You see one? Cracked one, cracked one. Nice. Got him."

"See you guys later." Belly called out over the noise. 

They all looked back briefly to say goodbye. But they all paused, Jeremiah got up and spun her round looking her up and down "Damn!"

"Are you kidding? No. Yeah, fine, just abandon the game completely, Jere." Steven complained. 

"You... look... hot." he told her. Belly laughed at Jere's childishness as Steven called out behind him "Hey, hey, hey, stop flirting with my sister." 

"Shut up, Steven." Belly said.  

"No, you shut up." he told her before looking her up and down again "Well, you look good, though."

"So are you lovely ladies driving with, or are you meeting us there?" Jere asked. "I'm not going to the book party. I'm going to the drive-in." Belly explained.  

"With who?" Conrad and Jere asked. Steven lightly hit Conrad to get hm to focus on the game "Dude, dude, focus. Come on."

"Um..." Belly got a notification and Cordelia knew it must be from Cameron "Uh, okay. Bye." 

Cordelia lead her to the door and watched her walk over to the car parked at the curb she watched them drive away. She wished someone would look at her that way. 

When she closed the door Jeremiah was behind her asking "Who was that?"

Oh shit. Cordelia thought. She sighed "I'm sorry Jere she's on a date with a guy named Cameron"

Jere's face fell when she said date. "Jere are you okay?" she asked concerned. 

He nodded "I'm fine. If Belly wants Conrad she can have him. If Belly wants Cameron she can have him. I'm not going to bother anymore." he walked away despite Cordelia trying to talk to him.
