How did I get here? I don't remember leaving the club...but...I'm back at my apartment with a guy. Every red flag is waving in the depths of my mind. Nerves are racing through my veins and flowing down into my hips, choking my soul. It's clear that I'm starting to sober up and my mind is racing with so many thoughts, as I try to stay calm. I feel so unsafe, right now. What the heck have I gotten myself into?

"Jaen...Jaen?" the concerned guy calls out to me. I snap out of the brief moment of comatose and face him.

"Oh..yeah...so...why are you here?" I say cautiously.

"Ah..right, um, you passed out on the dancefloor while we were dancing and I wasn't quite sure what to do. So, I decided to look at the address on your license so that I can drop you off at your home. I'm sorry if I'm trespassing. I just wanted to make sure you were safe."

"Oh..." I say quietly. "Um...did I do anything crazy tonight?" I ask awkwardly.

"Well.." he chuckles, "you planted one on me out of nowhere. Caught me by surprise, actually." he says as he rubs the back of his neck.

I panic and my words stammer out like I'm some bumbling fool. "I...I did what?? I've never initiated a conversation with a guy, let alone had the courage to make the first move... Ugh, how embarrassing. I'm so sorry!" I say as I cover my eyes like a monkey.

"No worries! After your graceful tumble to the ground, I figured maybe you were in the moment. You did drink...quite a bit. I just assumed it meant nothing to you...but...it was nice." he says bashfully, turning a bit red.

I blush when he says my kiss was nice. In that moment, I felt a real connection with him. I've never felt a feeling like this. It's nice..it's so unreal. It all feels like a dream to me.

"Hey, Jaen... I know we just met and all...but, I really like you. I want to get to know you better and I'm totally cool with taking things slow if you are. The name's Skyler, by the way. What do you say we start over?" he says with a sweet smile that melts my heart away. He really seems like a genuine, good guy.

"I think I'd like that, Skyler." I smile back.

"Well, I should go." he says grabbing his coat. "Goodnight,  my princess." he says with a smile as he walks out and closes the door behind him. My heart flutters a little from being called his "Princess."

I breathe in a sigh of relief.  There's a lingering dread of the thought that this man could've taken advantage of me while I was passed out, but he didn't. He really seems like a good guy. I wonder...Could HE be my suitor?

I walk over to the bathroom and clean myself up. Then, I climb into bed and turn out the light. It's been a long night. Cleo finally hops up onto the bed. He nestles in between my right arm and ribcage and we fall asleep together.
