“Bright, do you have a minute? Can I talk to you?” Win caught Bright just as he was about to leave for work.

Bright had been avoiding Win the whole morning. He was afraid to listen to what she might tell him after last night incident. For a split second, he was tempted to say that he had no time right now. Instead, he looked at his Burberry Large Chronograph bracelet watch and said, “I have 30 minutes to spare.”

Win nodded and said, “I’ve been doing a lot of thinking last night.” Then, she approached Bright and fixed his black tie.

Bright stood there, afraid to say anything. He had been expecting the worse and the way Win started the conversation didn’t seem promising but she was standing close to him, fixing his tie, ‘What’s going on here?’ He thought.

Win took a step back. She took a good look at Bright’ impassive face, “I’m sorry, maybe this is not a good time. We can talk later.” She chickened out.

“Win, wait. What is it?” Bright asked, as he braced himself for the worse. There was no way he can get any work done today, wondering what Win wanted to talk about.

“Actually, I was wondering if…well, ermmm…about what happened last night…well, ermmm…you know, do you still want to…you know.” Win would’ve been staring at her feet if her stomach weren’t in the way.

“WHAT?!” A frustrated Bright raked his fingers through his short dark brown hair, “I have no clue as to what you just said!” Here he was, scared to death and she expected him to decipher her meaning?

“You don’t have to yell.” Win said, with a pout. Then, she took a peek at him, “What I’m trying to say is…well, do I have to spell it out?” At this point, Win was blushing furiously.

“Win, please, I’m trying to understand but you’re worrying me. Look, I’m sorry about what I almost did last night. I promise it won’t happen again.” Bright was taken aback by the glare Win gave him.

“Are you trying to tell me that you’ve been playing with me this whole time? That you really had no intention of making things work out between the two of us? Well then, that’s it. I’m leaving.”

“Huh? Win, I’m really very confused here. What are you talking about? What do you want me to do?” Bright grabbed Win’s shoulder as she tried to walk away, “Win? Talk to me. Tell me what you’re thinking.”

“I’m just wasting my time. You are just too pigheaded to understand that I want things to change here. I want to start all over. I want to get to know you better. I want things to change between us.” Win angrily wrenched her shoulder away and stomped off towards her bedroom.

Poor Bright stood there in shock, his heart pounding crazily. Did she just say what he thought she did? He started trembling. What she said was the exact opposite of what he expected. He wasn’t dreaming, right? ‘I want to start all over.’ Yes, she did say that, “Love!” Bright shouted, as he mobilized his limbs into motion, ‘Hell, if I had known that she would react this way after almost kissing her, I would’ve done this a long time ago.’

He felt like he was going to fly with the elation he’s feeling right now, “Love.” Bright finally caught up with her inside her bedroom. Without another wasted second, he pulled her in his arm and held her tightly. Everything else ceased to exist for the two of them. Bright started caressing Win’s back tenderly. Then, he stared deep into her eyes, “Win, I…. love you.” The gentle probing kisses soon escalated into a wildly passionate one as their long starved body and emotion demanded for more.

Win pulled back abruptly, ending the kiss. Bright blinked in confusion, his passion-clouded mind refusing to accept the emptiness he was feeling, “Bright, we still have a lot of things to discuss.” Finally, what Win said hit Bright like a bucket cold of water.
