Act 4

Shenhe arrived home, she sees Talia and Quiana standing next to each other. Quiana noticed Shenhes arrival "Good to see you back" she greeted sarcastically, Shenhe gave an apologetic expression "Where's Shelby right now" she asked, "She's up in her room right now" Talia answered.

Shenhe still looked saddened, Quiana stood in front of her "Did you seriously have to get competitive there, again?" she spoke sternly "She was really looking forward to today and... I hate to say it but you ruined it for her" she continued quite bluntly.

Shelby wrapped herself in a comfortable purple robe, she sighed sorrowfully to herself. She walked out to her balcony and leaned forward, taking in the view in front of her. She began to remember the good things that happened at the dance.

For example, her encounter with the crimson oni she had. Little did she know was that very oni happened to see her on her balcony in the distance, he lit up when he saw her and started running over to her direction.

Shelby only smiled when the memory repeated in her mind, she gave a delighted sigh. She looked over and saw Itto trying to climb over the gate that surrounded her home. She then gave a panicked expression "Y-You?" she blurted out catching his attention, he smiled at her "Hi" he whispered.

"WHAT ARE YO-" she stopped herself when she realized how loud she was "What are you doing here?" she then whispered "I had to see you again" he answered. Shelbys heart fluttered at his words but then shook her head "You gotta get out of here before someone sees you" she spoke in a panic.

She watched him continue to climb over the gate, she then heard the door behind her open. Shelby immediately jumped and turned around with a forced smile, she sees that Shenhe was the one who walked in "Hey Shelby, Is it okay if I talk to you for a moment" she asked.

Shelby softened her forced smile, she looked back and didn't see Itto. She returned looking at Shenhe "Uh, yeah" she answered. Shenhe stepped closer "Well I just wanted to say sorry. For may behavior" she said.

Shelby was surprised by this apology "I really shouldn't have lashed out like that back there" she continued. Shelby softly smiled "It's alright" she said, the two hugged each other. Shenhe then walked away "Go get some rest now" and was completely gone.

Shelby sighed in relief, she looked back at her balcony and saw Itto struggling to get on the balcony. She grabbed a hold of him and pulled him up, now he stood in front of her. Their eyes locked, "I uh I don't think I learned your name" Shelby spoke, averting her eyes.

Itto smiled down at her "It's Itto. Arataki Itto" he introduced as he placed his hand delicately on her cheek, she smiled up at him "Arataki Itto" she repeated. Itto had a small blush forming on his cheeks.

"I'm Shelby" she introduced, "Beautiful name. Just like you" he spoke sweetly. Shelby blushed at his words, but shook her head after having a sad realization "No, we... we can't be together. Not like this" she said sorrowfully.

Itto had his curiosity peaked by her words "Why not?" he asked "Well, you're an oni. I'm a human. Such a thing isn't allowed" she said in worry. Itto placed his other hand on her cheek and gave a determined expression "But being with you it feels like all of it doesn't matter anymore" he spoke.

Shelby felt surprised by his words but she then smiled with a blush, she looked at his eyes again "You're a stubborn one. Aren't you?" she asked, Itto smiled back at her "Stubborn for the right things" he spoke softly.

They both are now smiling, they start leaning closer to each other, Shelbys eyes darted to the other balcony and panicked when she saw Quiana outside "Get down" she whispered quickly. She pulled him down, her arms wrapped around his head, holding him closely against her chest.

Itto was quite surprised by this sudden action, he listened to her heartbeat as she waited for Quiana to be completely gone. Shelby looked up, and sighed in relief when she saw Quiana was gone. They both stood back up "You can't stay here any longer" she informed.

"But-" Shelby stopped him from talking anymore, he sighed in defeat "Alright, but can I see you again?" he asked, Shelby smiled again and nodded "I work at the Cryo bakery. Meet me there in the back at 2 tomorrow" she explained.

Itto nodded "Got it" he climbed over the balcony, he looked back at Shelby "I'll see you tomorrow" he was about to leave but then Shelby called out "Wait!" he turned around and was face to face with her once again. Shelby smiled, she locked her hand onto his "Goodnight Itto"

Itto returned the lock of their hands and smiled back at her "Goodnight... I love you" he spoke, Shelby blushed, and then hummed "I love you" she spoke back, They both leaned closer to each and shared a sweet, delicate kiss.

They pulled back from the kiss, Itto then left. His hand slipping out of Shelbys grasp, she watched him leave with a delighted expression, she placed her hand on her chest feeling her heart beat rapidly, she really was in love with this oni.

All the onis united together, cheering "She said yes to the fight guys" Takuya announced, Ila noticed Itto running back to the group "Oh, hey Itto" she greeted, Itto seemed curious at the sight before his "Hey. What's going on here?" he asked, Ila scoffed "Takuya and Shenhe agreed to a rumble" Ila explained.

This info suddenly made Itto a little upset "What?" he walked over to Takuya "Oh, Itto. You're here. Think you could help me?" Takuya asked as he wrapped his arm around Itto while he kept his displeased expression.

Takuya was confusing at the fact that Itto seemed upset "Why the long face?" he asked, Itto slowly pushed Takuyas hand off him "You're seriously going to fight Shenhe?" he asked, Takuya seemed confused about his question "You knew about this. I told you earlier" he answered.

Itto sighed in slight anger "Fine. Help with what exactly?" he asked keeping his attitude, Takuya slightly smirked "Coming up with some kind weapon to bring to the rumble" he explained. Itto then got an idea.

"Weapons? Why don't you do a fist fight?" he asked with a smirk curling up, Takuya gave an unsure expression "I don't know, I don't think it will get the point across" Takuya explained, Itto raised an eyebrow at his statement "Actually, I think it'd be better. Leading to a fair fight, you know?" he explained.

Takuya thinks for a moment "It can't hurt, right?" Itto insisted, Takuya rolled his eyes "Okay okay, I'll go with the fist fight" he said, Itto softly smile "I guess I'll have to inform Shenhe about the fair fight thing. But other than that I guess I'll see you tomorrow" then all the onis left.

Itto there alone, with a prideful smile, he pumped his fist happily "Well, you seem happy" Itto turned around and saw that it was Granny Oni who spoke, Itto smiled even more "You think so?" he asked.

Granny Oni nodded "I find it interesting that you were insistent on making it a fair fight" she then slightly smirked "Did something amazing happen?" she asked. A small blush formed on Ittos cheeks as he smiled and then nodded.

"Not just something. SomeONE" he gave a daydreamed gaze to the distance "A girl. The most beautiful girl I have ever laid my eyes on" he confessed. Granny Oni widened her eyes in realization "Is this why you insisted on a fair fight?" she asked.

Itto nodded "I've decided to end this nonsense at the fight" he gave a sweet expression "And I'm gonna do it all for her" he said happily. Granny Onis expression turned into one of concern, Itto started to walk away "Hopefully this ends well... for both of you" she muttered to herself.
