*August 16th 9:30 am*
*Steve's Apartment*
"Do you think it looks nice Tyler?"
"Yeah it's a nice ring."
I may not be proposing but giving her a promise ring might help fix things between us a little.
"That's great! Before I go I need you to promise me something."
"What is it?"
"Don't do no crazy shit when I'm gone. I just need you to stay put and we can do whatever when I'm back."
"What makes you think I'd do something crazy?"
"Don't ask questions you know the answer to."
He gives me a kiss on the cheek before wishing me a safe trip. Right when I get back from meeting up with her father, I'll give her the ring... This will work like a charm! A few 20 minutes after getting into my car I get a call from Tyler.
"Steve! You shouldn't go down there!"
"Why not? I promised her I would."
"Fine you can't break a promise but he's dangerous."
"How so?"
"He's in this gang."
"That's it?"
"Well, they don't hesitate to kill people."
"We seen that shit growing up come on now."
"Steve I'm tell-"
"Look everything will be fine I'll come home without a scratch."
"But-"
"Love you Tyler, see you later!"
I hang up the phone and keep driving. As I drive, he keeps texting me about how dangerous he is but provides no proof. Why am I just now hearing about this? Something is wrong.
*Tyler's POV*
*Tyler's apartment*
*6:20 pm*
Shit! Fuck! He's almost there! I can't tell him to turn around now! How could anyone tell someone else this shit? I know those two been seeing each other.... Ew! That's gross... Damnit now's he's there!
*Steve's POV*
*Ashanti's father's house 6:26 pm*
I knock on the door and wait for him to answer. This neighborhood isn't too bad but it's for sure the ghetto. I knock again and wait. Soon I hear him shout for me to come in. I open the door and find a slightly overweight black man with a grey beard and no hair.... He looks familiar.
"Who the fuck are you?"
Oh, he's drunk.
"My names Steve."
"What do you want Steve?"
"I just had a ques-"
"Say whatever you need to then get out."
"Alright well does the name Ashanti ring a bell?"
"Ashanti?... Does she have a brother or two?"
"Yeah, Astro and Lorenzo."
"Those are my children."
Oh, shit it's really him! I found him! I did it!
"Oh well thanks."
"I have this other kid."
"Other kid? Who is it?"
