Chapter 3: The White Wolf Pack

I woke up to bright lights. My eyebrows pulled together in confusion and I opened my eyes. I was in a room with all white walls. I looked at my right side to see Hailey sleeping.

I tried to sit up but hissed in pain. Hailey slurred in her sleep and opened her eyes. Her blue eyes widened. She smiled at me and hugged me tightly.

"Oh, Emma! Thank goodness you are okay! You had me worried sick!" She said as she hugged me tighter. I hissed in pain and she let go smiling sheepishly. I gave her a weak smile and sat up.

"Where are we?" I ask looking around. I looked at Hailey who was looking at me in awe and excitement. I raised an eyebrow.

"You are at The White Wolf Pack" someone said behind me. I spun around to see a girl about in her mid-twenties. She had a white lab coat on so I'm guessing she is the pack doctor. Wait, did she say White Wolf Pack?

"What did you say?" I asked as I stared at her in shock, confusion, and happiness. We made it! We are in The White Wolf Pack! Wait how did they find us? "How did you know where we were?" I asked confused. She smiled at me.

"Two of our girls were driving home from the store and felt this horrible pain, which was you in pain, yes?" She asked and I nodded. "They found you guys in the woods. You were passed out and Hailey here was in wolf form whimpering." She explained.

"Oh okay" I said. The pack doctor walked around the room checking the machines and her clip board.

"Okay, you are free to go whenever you want" she said than walked out. I turned to Hailey, wide eyed. She smiled at me and started unhooking the IV's that were in my arms.

"I know, shocking right? When they told me, I was the same way." She said when she was finished with unhooking me. She smiled and helped me out of the bed. She handed some clothes and pushed me in the bathroom.

I shut the door and changed into some leggings, a T-shirt, and some black vans. I opened the door and walked out. Hailey was in the room waiting for me. She looked me up and down and nodded in approval. I smiled and we walked out of the pack hospital.

We walked to a house and Hailey knocked. A girl opened the door and squealed. Hailey and the girl did this handshake thingy than hugged. I stood there shifting from foot to foot.

"Oh! Rebeca, this is Emma. She's the one that knows more than I do about this pack and the one who got us this far," she said, smiling. I smiled and put my hand out so she could shake it. Instead, she grabbed my hand and pulled me into a hug. I awkwardly patted her back. She pulled back and smiled.

"Hi! I'm Rebeca! Natalie and I found you and Hailey in the woods. You were passed out and Hailey was in wolf form." She said happily. Hailey and Rebeca went back to chatting after. I took that time to study Rebeca. She has red hair, but blue eyes.

"Don't you think Em?" Hailey asked. I looked at her confused. Was she talking to me the whole time?

"Huh? Sorry, I zoned out" I said sheepishly. Hailey rolled her eyes and muttered 'Typical'.

"I said, we should go shopping some time" she said annoyed. I chuckled but nodded anyway. After that, Rebeca invited us into the house and showed us our rooms.

My room has a queen size bed with black covers. The walls were black also. I looked around and saw my stuff on the floor. Of course Hailey choose my room. She knows how I am.

I put my stuff in the walk-in-closet and sat on my bed. I looked at my nightstand and saw a phone. I frowned in confusion and saw a paper by it. I picked up the paper and read it.

Thought you could use something to get a hold of me when we leave the pack.

She bought this for me? But when? How? There was a knock on my door that made me jump. I smoothed down my shirt and cleared my throat.

"Come in" I yelled and sat down on my bed. A boy walked in that looked about 9 or 10. He smiled at me and sat beside me.

"Hi, my name is Tommy," he said. I smiled. He was so cute. I always wanted a little brother.

"Well hi their Tommy, my name is Emma but you can call me Em" I said. He grinned and climbed in my lap. After that, we started talking about everything and anything.

Jackson's POV (after he Rejects Emma)

After I walk away, I actually feel bad for her. No one should have to go through rejection. But sometimes life is not fair. I saw how tears came to her eyes but she tried to hold them back. My wolf whimpered when he saw that.

'Why did you reject her?!' He yelled. I rolled my eyes at him. 'Just because she was the slave doesn't mean you have to reject her! You could make them stop!' Was he stupid, or what?

'Are you stupid?' I asked my thoughts. 'I can't even if I tried. I was her worst abuser! Even if I tried, she won't take us back' I said to him. He whimpered and shut off the connection.

I walked into the kitchen to see Jack, my best friend and almost beta, since I'm not Alpha yet. He smiled at me.

"Hey do you know where the slaves are? Their supposed to make lunch." He asked coming up to me. I shook my head.

"Probably in their room mopping, like always," I said. He nodded and headed upstairs to get them. I sat down at the table.

He came down after a while, holding a note. I raised my eyebrows at it. With shaky hands, he handed the note to me.

'Dear whoever cares,

We are leaving. We have stayed here long enough. The only reason we stayed in these dump was because we thought our mates would care about us. We were wrong. We are going to be all alone for our shifting. I hope you guys have fun without us.

Goodbye forever,
Emma & Hailey.'

After reading the note, my heart broke in half. I looked up at Jack to see him with tears in his eyes.

"Get our trackers ready. We are going to look for them. They couldn't have gone far," I said standing up. He nodded and went to do want I asked.

You never know what you have right in front of you until it's gone.
