They spent the next three days tucked away in the safety of that condo. That wasn't what they had planned, but life felt more comfortable when it was just the two of them- locked away, listening to music, making dinner, arguing over what to watch, and whispering about nothing and everything wee into the morning hours.

It had never been like that for them, not unless they were in Hawaii, and still that had never really felt as promising as the moments they'd shared in the last of couple of days.

It was like their silent way of assuring one another that this was how it was supposed to be... They had missed out on enough and for them to keep doing that to each other just wasn't fair anymore.

"Now this is a sight that I could really get used to..." Lindsey announced, a soft grin on his face as he lingered in the bedroom doorway.

She was sitting crisscross applesauce on the bed, hair pulled up into a loose clip, wearing one of his t-shirts and not an ounce of makeup.

Tossing her head back, she let out a soft laugh as she brought her cup of tea up to her lips. "Very funny." She replied, watching as he trailed in further.

It was late- almost midnight, but that had suddenly meant very little to either of them, even Lindsey, who had been used to running on a pretty normal schedule.

He smirked, falling onto the foot of the bed. "You are eventually going to let me take you out, right?" Lindsey had to tease, only because he knew that she could spend forever at home.

And though he loved the alone time, he also wanted to do things right. In normal relationships, where people aren't sneaking around, it's typical to do things like go outside together... They'd never been typical though, so they were definitely entering new territory.

Looking down into those blue eyes, she nodded her head very softly. "It depends..." she lingered with a smirk. "Where do you want to take me?" She raised a brow playfully, teasing him a little.

He chuckled, still laying flat on his stomach with his head tilted her way. "Where ever you want, baby." Lindsey's hand met her knee, running the tips of his fingers up and down the back of it to get her to giggle a little more.

Bending down, her lips met the top of his head as she ran her fingers through his curls. "I'll have to think about it." She winked lightly, biting down on her lower lip.

She was almost certain that she'd fallen in love with him ten times over in their couple of days together. He had been more sentimental than he ever had before and she wasn't sure if he was in some honeymoon bliss, or if he was just as happy to be working it out as she was... Either way, it had been perfect.

With a soft sigh, he rolled over on his back, and immediately reached out to take her hand in his. "We could always run away together..." Lindsey's voice was soft as he left a couple of light kisses on the tips of her fingers.

"Oh?" She raised a brow as that sweet smile danced across her gorgeous face. "Run away and go where?" Stevie already knew, but she wanted to hear what he had to say, anyway.

"My favorite place." He replied, mind already drifting back to their home on the ocean, where simplicity was natural and things always felt good.

"We've already done that-"

"No...." He cut her off, already knowing exactly what she was thinking. "I mean, we should go forever." He added, which isn't something that he'd just thought of...

He had always imagined that they would end up there together, even at the absolute lowest point of their relationship... He had hope.

"This seems like the perfect time, Steph." He was looking deep into those brown eyes, finding her more and more beautiful the longer he stared.

She couldn't help but chuckle, almost certain that he was beginning to lose it. "What about our children?" Stevie whispered as her free hand met his chest.

He let out a soft sigh, his eyes traveling up to ceiling fan that was spinning in fast circles. "They're all grown up." Lindsey shrugged. "And they'd love to come visit us there." He was certain of it, even if it would take some getting used to... especially for his two kids.

Constance and Becks had been more used to Stevie and Lindsey's antics. They had spent quite a few summers in Hawaii with them, and then both girls went on the road with the band... They weren't totally oblivious, not like Adam and Ann, who had praised their parents for sharing such a long marriage.

If anyone had to worry about creating trouble with their children, it was definitely him.

"We could spend our days out on the water, and down by the beach..." he told her, continuing to leave light kisses on her wrist. "You could paint and sing..." Lindsey was really going to lay it on thick, hoping it would sound as peaceful to her as it did to him.

Her heart nearly skipped a beat as she listened to him recount all the things that she loved about that house. "Linds..." she whispered, tears lingering in the brims of her orbs.

"It's time we start doing things for ourselves..." when he said that- he meant it. "We've worried about everyone and everything for far too long." He added, slowly pushing himself up on his elbow to look at her a little better. "It's our time, baby." He leaned in, smirking softly when she wrapped her two arms around his shoulders.

Nodding her head, she let out a tear filled giggle. "Let's go." She had butterflies in the pit of her stomach. "There's nothing I want more."
