"DO YOU WANT A CHEETO?" I chuckled as I shook my head. Ethan was chomping on a big bag of cheetos while we sat in the back of a van. I can't bare the thought of eating at this moment.
"So we're really doing the phone tracing thing that never works in the movies?" Mindy asked Kirby, as she types away at her computer.
"It'll be all, "Keep them talking, Sam. Two more minutes, I've almost got him" And then he hangs up just before we can get a lock." Mindy laid back, her arms crossed over her chest.
"I can trace a call in under 15 seconds." Kirby stated, turning to Mindy with a grin. Almost like she won whatever battle they were having.
Mindy huffed, almost like defeat. "Well, you've got them out there as bait." Referring to Sam and Tara.
"Because the killer usually calls from somewhere nearby." Kirby stated, looking at Mindy. "And you think they're safe because it's broad daylight in a public place?" Mindy fired back.
I was just listening in on their little 'fight'? I was very interested.
"Look, I am here, okay? And so it Bailey." Kirby said. So Sam and Tara should be safe.
"This is exactly how our uncle Randy died, broad daylight. Public place. Yanked into a van. Stab, stab, stab. No more Randy." Mindy huffed. Looking dead into Kirby's eyes.
All of us went silent, even Kirby. All she had to say was 'huh' then turned back to her computer to type on it.
I turned over to Ethan, who turned to Chad, and offered him some Cheetos. He didn't say anything.
We waited for the killer to call and when he did we all went silent. It took awhile for Sam to answer.
And when she did, "You're gonna die, you know." Was the first thing Sam said when she answered the call.
I was shocked, she can be so blunt sometimes. Well, more like all the time.
"For a mastermind, you're not very bright. Waiting for me to call, desperately hoping I'm nearby so the police can grab me?" Ghostface says.
Shivers went down my spine, he was on to us. He knew what we were doing. How though?
I could see through the back window of the van, Sam looked around, trying to find him. But no luck.
