Axel pov:
"Order for miss Ralph." I hear his voice from the kitchen. His brown hair that peeks out from the small window between us. The wall, the only thing that's keeping us separated. "Earth to Axel. Your muffins are burning." I hear my sister yell. I blink a few times before realizing where I am. "Oh no, my muffins." I say, as I run to get them out of the oven. "To busy day dreaming again." She says, whilst climbing onto the counter. I place the burnt muffins next to her.
"Yes." I say with a sigh, placing my head on the palms of my hands. "Don't worry. You can make them from scratch and atleast the customers didn't smell them." She says, with a chuckle. "You have a every big smile on your face even if I almost burnt the whole place down." I say, lifting my head up. "It's fine, I would get money and you would give me the money." She says with a shrug. "Well anyway. What were you day dreaming about. It can't be the same thing all the time." She says, placing her hand on her knee.
"Why do you even ask. You already know." I look up at her. "Aw. Still got a crush on him?" She squeezes my cheek. "Stop." I say, pushing hand away. "You know, you're just turning 18 and his turning 26. Doesn't that bother you?" She asks, jumping off the counter. I look down at the counter,"No." I whisper.
"Oh, so you like a gap. Gotcha. Well, I have to go. Bye my sweet little brother." She says, ruffling my hair. She walks out the kitchen. As the door closes, "Bye Kelly." I hear him say. The things I would do to hear his voice in the mornings. I sigh at my thoughts.

"Finally. Atleast these didn't burn." I say, placing them on the counter. "Hey stump, I need you take over here. I have to go." I hear him say at the door. I look up and see him leaning against the door frame. My face turns warm at the sight infront of me. "Y-yeah. I'll be there in a minute." I say, picking up the muffins. I feel his gaze on me as I place the muffins in the fridge. I take off my apron and hanging it on the hook, by the door.
I walk towards Adrian as he stands the in the door frame. "See you later stump." He says, walking out of the café. I let out a sigh of relief. Why did it take him so long to go?

"Hey, how was your first day of closing the café by yourself." Kelly says with a big smile on her face as she leans back in her chair. "If you lean like that, you'll fall." I say, hanging my bag at the front door. "It's fine, I needed to pop something on my back anyway." She teases. "Anyway, Ginger wants food." She says, looking back at her laptop. "Why couldn't you feed him?" I ask, crossing my arms. "If you stare at me with those eyes, I wouldn't be able to use my arms, because of the holes you burn into them." She says with a chuckle. "And besides, I needed to feed Sage, before Chloé got here." She says.
"You two are still together? I thought there was a fight between you two." I walked over to the table and sat down on the chair. "Yeah, but we made up." She says, clicking away on her laptop. "Maybe you should stop worrying about me and start worrying about your cat." She says, looking at Ginger behind me. "Ugh, fine." I say, standing up from my chair and picking up Ginger to go to my room. "Night. Night. You two." I hear Kelly yell, before I close the door.
I fall onto my bed with a sigh. "Oh Ginger, it happened again today." I say, looking up my cat.
Adrian pov:
I unlock the door with a sigh. I hear him running towards me as I walk into the room. "Hey buddy. No licking." I say, as I keep him back from me. I wipe the blood from my cheek as I take off my shirt. "You hungry?" I ask, looking back at Onyx as he jumps around. "I'll take that as a yes." I say, fulling his bowl with food. "Enjoy. Imma go take a shower." I start walking up the stairs.
•••
"Ugh, what to do?" I say, pacing up and down the room. "Which one do you think I should do next Onyx?" I ask, leaning against the table. Onyx walks up to me and sits next me. I hear one bark from him, "This one?" I show him the paper. "Good choice." I say, rubbing his head.
"Be a good gaurd dog and watch the house for me. I'm going to sleep." I walk to my bedroom and fall onto the bed, opening my phone and see a text from stump.
Stump: Hey. I'm not going be at the café tomorrow. Marcus will be joining you.
I never thought he'll have the guts to text me himself. Usually I'm the one texting him and even then his not talking much. He's probably kicking his legs at the phone when he talks me.
