I called my best friend, Ellinor, who was vacationing in New York for a week to talk to her about how a boy ran into me. She's the one I always share everything that happens to me, and she's the one who gives me advice.
Usually, if I talk about a boy, it's when I'm ranting on how I saw a cute boy in the store. That usually ends up where she tells me that I'm never going to see them again, and that I should get over it.
This time, she was freaking out, telling me that I missed my chance to get my prince.
"Elli," I sigh, rolling my eyes even though she can't see it. "This is real life, not a love story. And besides, he's probably not even into me."
"He is too, Ember!" Ellinor exclaims. "I just know it."
I sigh. "Okay, let's just say he is. I've never seen him before, and I don't even know where he lives."
"Why didn't you follow him?"
"No! That's just creepy. And what happens if he's on drugs?!"
"Ember," She groans my name. "Stop being so ignorant, and read the signs. He's into you!"
A small smile played on my face.
We fall silent for a while. Then, all of a sudden, Ellinor gasps.
"Ember James!!" She practically screams into my ear. "If you and that guy are really meant to be, which I know you guys are, then you'll see him tomorrow...when there's school!! "
Inside me, I feel kind of excited, but outside I keep neutral. "And what if he's not, considering I don't remember seeing him there any other time I was at school."
"KEEP LOOKING!!" She exclaims. "You never know if you just didn't recognize him before...because you were never looking before your incident."
I sigh. "I love you, Elli."
"I love you, bestie! And please keep me updated on Mystery Boy, okay?"
"'Mystery Boy'?" I ask, a full smile now on my face.
"Ya! You said you don't know his name, right? He's a total mystery, so his name is Mystery Boy!"
I chuckle and shake my head. "Bye, Ellinor!"
"Bye!"

The next morning, I took a shower and put on my brand new dark blue, crop top sweater along with black leggings. I quickly put on my makeup, and my beautiful matte red lipstick that Ellinor gave me for my birthday last year before running down the hall to grab something to eat.
"Hi, Dad!" I say, running around him as he pours his coffee. I grab a granola bar and my handheld smoothie maker that I cleaned the night before and fill it up with some mixed frozen fruits before running over to kiss Dad. "Bye, Dad!"
He kisses me back. "Bye, Firefly. Oh, did you grab your backpack?"
"Oh, crap! I forgot," I say, running back to my room and grabbing my brand new backpack that has a pink breast cancer symbol on it. "Thanks, Dad. Love you!"
"Love you, too!" He says as I close the door.

I always walk to school, since it's not too far away, unless it's raining or it's snowing. That's when I usually ride the bus.
As I walk, I blend the smoothie and drink it before eating the granola bar.
I finally get to the school, and look at the school sign. Raven High School's sign is purple and black, which are its school colors.
I breathe in and out slowly before walking inside.
The inside was full of super loud teenagers, either grouping together to greet each other or just walking around everybody and saying hi.
I squeezed past some squealing girly girls hugging, like they haven't seen each other in forever, and some sweaty jocks that were showing off their muscular arms to each other before I got to my locker.
I put my backpack inside and grabbed my books for the first period before turning around and...running straight into a hard chest, my body against that body, before falling straight to the floor.
I wince as my chest aches in pain. I look up.
Mystery Boy is peering down at me with guilt mixed with concern.
"Are you okay??" He asks, pulling me up off the floor.
"I'm fine." I reply, dusting myself off and rubbing my head.
I pick up my things, and Mystery Boy bends down to help.
After we finished picking my books and notebooks, Mystery Boy handed me the ones in his hands. As he does, we touch hands and stay like that for a little bit, holding each other's gaze.
Finally, I look away and stand up. "Uh-um...so, uh-did you just move here? I've never seen you around here before."
"Um, ya. I just moved here a couple of weeks ago. My mom and I moved from Montana. This is the first time we actually settled down, and our first home we have ever bought."
"Well...welcome to Raven High School, Mystery Boy." I said out loud before my eyes widened and pursed my lips to shut myself up.
"Pardon me?" He asks, an eyebrow raised.
"Uuh, I...what's your name?"
"It's-" He started when the bell rang.
That's when a flood of teenagers came rushing towards us, pushing me away from Mystery Boy.
He says something to me, but I can't hear him.
Once again, I don't know his name.
