Trigger warning: abuse
——————-
Lacey's pov"Hello, I'm Julie, I'm the hospitals children worker. I'm sorry Lacey, but your mother has passed away." She said while sitting on a chair by my bed.
I instantly broke down crying, I'd never in a million years imagined this happening to me. What am I going to do now? There's no where for me to stay, my dad died when I was 5 and the rest of my family only talk to us because they have to because we're 'related'. I've never really considered them family, my mom and dad were the only ones I really liked. And now they're both gone, forever.
"I'm sure you want to be alone right now and I will leave in a second. But, when you're discharged from here you'll be staying with your new foster parents. They live in Nashville so I'll be flying there with you and then I'll be going back" Julie said before leaving.
Wow Julie, you bitch. My mom's body probably isn't even cold yet and I've got new 'parents'. "I'm so sorry,Lacey" Linda said while patting my arm with a sympathetic smile and leaving.
I laid down in my hospital bed with absolutely no idea what to do, I just stared at the ceiling hoping to wake up from this awful dream. But then I realised I wasn't actually dreaming and this was in fact happening to me.
I picked my phone up from beside me and turned to the one person who could always cheer me up. Taylor swift. I usually put her music on when I'm feeling sad, or happy, or scared, I really just put it on all the time.

After a few days of sitting alone in the hospital they finally discharged me. I was desperate to get out of there, but part of me wanted to stay so I wouldn't have to move to my new foster 'parents'.
Me and Julie got onto the plane and we arrived at Nashville shortly after. The only thing good about moving to Nashville was that me and Violet (my best friend) were seeing Taylor's concert here in two weeks.
We arrived at the house and were greeted by a woman who's name was Ashley and a man who's name was Michael. I guess these are my new parents now.
They seemed nice when we met them, just about enough to trick Julie. But when Julie left they instantly made me start cleaning their house. I'd read about bad foster parents who just use the kids for money or cleaning before, so I wasn't that shocked. I was more shocked that it was happening to me.
I never thought I'd be in a situation like this ever in my life. but here I was, cleaning up after Ashley and Michael. They showed me to my room and I placed my things down, the only thing I had with me was my phone and some headphones. I guess that's all I owned now.
I got tired of cleaning up the bathroom so I went to sit in my room but Michael came storming down the hallway. "What the fuck do you think you're doing!? Get back to work you useless orphan!" He shouted at me. His voice was angry, enough to bring tears to my eyes.
I sat there as he shouted at me, things were happening too fast for me to process them so I just sat and stared. "Are you going to answer me you little shit?" Michael shouted louder and walked towards me.
I wasn't expecting him to do much but he just looked down at me and punched me. I moved my hand up to my face and yelped in pain. "Fuck!" I screamed. "Shut the fuck up and get back to work, or you'll get another punch" Michael yelled as he walked out of the room.
I decided it's best not to fight with him and started cleaning again, but my tears just wouldn't stop streaming down my face. Ashley and Michael were sitting on the couch as I was cleaning up in the living room.
"Stop crying or I'll give you something to cry about you little bitch" Ashley said in an annoyed tone.
