It had been 8 months since their argument. Unstable_Day had become even more distant from his coworkers. He would occasionally hang out with Dreadful_Day, but after a while he’d immediately go back to his shop. Unpredictable_Day had been quieter. The only one he would talk to was Dynamic_Day. Nothing was ever the same for those two. If they were distant before then, now they were complete strangers. Two strangers who happen to share a family.

Unstable was polishing up his blimp. He had been able to fix it himself. He kept it in great shape. The street outside his shop was much quieter than it would usually be. Great_Day had given orders for all civilians to stay in doors. There had been an attack on the neighboring Republic of Aurora. The Night Coalition had launched an attack on the capital, and their ally had called on the Days_Unions help. Of course, this meant some of his planes were currently deployed. Great had told him that he should stay behind in case of an emergency.

He felt she had other motives.

Apparently, some rescues had been made. Two men from different parts of the Republic. They were likely to become operatives, and Unstable was not happy about that. It just meant more people he had to avoid. They would judge him just like the others did.

Unstable woke up from where he had passed out on his work desk. He rubbed his eyes and looked over at the clock.

4:26

He groaned. He had a meeting with the rest of the operatives at 5:30, which he wasn’t looking forward to. He got up and half haphazardly fixed his hat on his head, not bothering to fix his hair. He fixed his tie and grabbed his vest. He never wore it unless he went out because he didn’t want to get it dirty while he was working. He looked at his reflection on the steel part of one of his planes. He didn’t look completely like shit. Although his eye bags were incredibly noticeable.

He looked back at the clock, 4: 58.

How had time passed by so fast? He grabbed his book bag, which held some documents he needed to take to Practical_Day regarding the repairs done on his planes. That operative always seemed to care for him. It felt nice, but he knew it was purely out of pity.

He exited the building and began his walk towards the meeting hall. It was a 20-minute walk, so he had time to make it there. He felt the cold breeze brush over his cheeks as he walked. It had been getting colder in the union. Times like these reminded him of those cold nights he would spend with his family.

Cuddled up on their couch, drinking hot cocoa. Bryan would take his guitar and play for them. Unpredictable and Realistic would never get into it, but Unstable would always be amazed by him. The words seem to come out of his mouth seamlessly.

In the last winter they shared together, he had not been able to play for him. Tensions were high between Bryan and Realistic. He had brought his guitar out to play for Unstable, but Realistic got home immediately as he started strumming the strings. He lashed out at Bryan, calling him useless and a pathetic excuse for a brother. Unstable hid behind the couch and listened to them argue. He didn’t know how long it had been, but he heard a door slam and some quiet crying. He came out from hiding to find Bryan holding his side as tears streamed down his face. Unstable rushed over to him, scared. His brother just took a deep breath and hugged him.
