Coals POV

Max, Chad, and Tracy all look at me with nervous eyes, giving each other looks when they think I'm not paying attention. We're sitting in a booth in one of our favorite bars, 'the clubhouse'. The bar mostly caters to bikers and college students, though the two groups rarely mix. There's practically a line drawn in the sand between them. The bikers sit at the bar, drinking liquor and playing pool, and the college students sit in various booths drinking beer and watching football. And as always, my group sits in a booth in the middle. A neutral zone my group has had claimed since our freshman year of college.

A fight breaks out between two bikers and I watch with mild boredom.  One man swings a punch so hard, blood spurts from the other man's nose. I'm not shocked, though I am slightly impressed by the swing. Fights are common place in this type of club, though it is discouraged.

When the fight ends and I finally look away, I find Tracy and the twins are still looking at me. Still. They haven't mentioned the photos or my newfound fame, but I can tell that's the reason for their strange behavior. I take a long swig of beer, sighing to myself. This shit even has these three acting up. Even Max, the funniest guy I've ever met, refrains from broaching the topic.

Silence stretches between us.

I glance at Alex, who is across the bar in biker territory. Him and Trent are playing pool, like they always do. They have a long-standing pool rivalry that's gone on since forever. Normally I wouldn't care at all, however today, I can't help but wish he would hurry up and come back already. His easy smiles and carefree attitude would help ease the group, as it always does.

"So Coal...how have you been?" Tracy asks me from across the booth, plastering a large fake smile on her freckled face. She is Trent's girlfriend, so I have to be nice to her. Annoying.

"Good. How have you been?"

Tracy almost rolls her eyes at me.

"Come on Coal. You're going to have to give me  more than 'good'. You work as a model for goodness sake. There has to be something for you to tell us." She gestures to herself, Max, and Chad. The twins both nod enthusiastically.

I hold back a sigh. She's so annoying.

There's a lot of new things I could tell them...but they would probably never look at me the same if I did. I have to keep all of the Kat stuff to myself, even if it means figuring everything out on my own.

"There's nothing to say. Modeling is not all that it's hyped up to be."

Chad rolls his eyes. He's a classic looking guy with short brown hair, just like his twin, the only difference is their eye color. Chad has green eyes and Max has brown.

"Yeah. Sleeping with beautiful women every night and getting paid thousands of dollars to wear clothes sounds super overhyped. Your right." He gives me a look.

"Well, recently I've been getting paid to take off my clothes actually." The words are out before I can stop myself.

Tracy's eyes bulge, and both Chad and Max burst out laughing.

"Are you serious right now? Fuck man, I want your job." Chad says, pushing Max, who is grinning at me.

"Yeah! I want to be a model too! I'll get naked right now!"
