Quidditch days were the worst. Well, maybe not that bad though - not that Remus didn't want to spend some time out of classes and do something different than just studying, but sports or watching sports obviously weren't his thing whatsoever. The final days of November weren't spoiling students with warm temperatures and even though they all possessed winter robes, they still had to wear extra layers of clothing to make sure it would keep them warm enough during cold, windy days - especially that the air felt so wintery already. What is more, it was one of the first days that it actually snowed - Hogwarts grounds were covered in snow, one soft foot layer of it, and the surface of the Black Lake looked like pure glass. The downfall especially caused some tumult between the students who, despite the prohibition of going out, strutted through the courtyard not only to get to their classes quicker, but also to initiate snowball wars between the students. It never stopped Argus Filch from chasing after the kids to try and punish them for their disobedience, though he once ended up being wrapped up in snow looking like a snowman - on behalf of some very ambitious seventh year Slytherins. Sirius, despite his well-known hatred towards the Serpent House, was awestruck by the mere idea of such a curse - though luckily it wasn't that harmless to call it a curse.
Despite his common reluctance towards any sports, Remus woke up way too early for his liking - at around seven in the morning when the sun was slowly making its way to appear on the horizon. The boy refused to pull off his bedsheets for the first few minutes until he located a sweater lying on the floor in front of his bedside table. Lupin withdrew his hand and grabbed the warm, thick fabric of a green sweater with pale green zig zags and put it on his pyjamas as quickly as possible. During his stay at Hogwarts he quickly realised that no matter how magical the castle was and how many warming spells were used to warm up every single room in the castle, he would still be freezing anyway. It was never warm enough for his gracile figure.
He got up without a hurry and took out some regular clothes from the trunk, heading towards the bathroom silently. After getting dressed, brushing his teeth and all the self-care activities, he brushed his hair with a comb hurriedly and headed towards the Great Hall for breakfast, expecting to see James in there. He knew how Quidditch days impacted James - Potter couldn't sleep, too excited to worry about such trivial activities, and he would always want to have a head start with his Quidditch knowledge, making an enquiry about it to the Gryffindor Quidditch Team. He knew literally everything about all the Quidditch teams from around the world, he knew every team members' strengths and weaknesses, he could brag all he wanted about his tactics knowledge - it was just as if he was living and breathing Quidditch.
Remus decided to meet him during the breakfast to show some support towards his passion, although it wasn't the only reason he wanted to do that. Avoiding Sirius at all cost was the other goal, that being so he felt the two of them got too close and Remus valued the importance of keeping his secret a secret.
When Sirius came back to the Gryffindor Common Room after his birthday celebrations with the Black family, he was completely mute. He wouldn't say anything to anyone and avoided the topic completely. They didn't really know if anything really happened during the event, and none of them tried to find out anymore. James, being the sweetest friend that he always was, kept trying for the first week or two - cornering Sirius alone in their dorm, coming up to Sirius' bed once he made sure that Remus and Peter were asleep. He then would always cast some charm that made an invisible barrier on the curtains, so that nobody would be able to eavesdrop on the conversation he tried having with Black.
Still, Sirius never said anything. He never stopped talking to them completely, but it was visible to anyone that he tried not engaging in any long conversations with the rest of his roommates. They all shared a few common studying sessions and exchanged some kind remarks about different things, but that was it. In the evening Sirius would always draw the curtains shut and scribble something down into his black notebook so quickly that Remus thought the notebook might as well be on fire.
