Chapter 3

So towards the end of my shift after a long day of work its time for me to go. " Addy I am gonna wait outside for you " Nathan tells me . I give him a soft nod. I feel nervous to say the least. Im lying to my parents just so I can spend time with him . I shake my head to myself locking the door to the library up . I know Im gonna be in for one but I also know I need to start taking care of myself and my happiness and if Nathan is the one to do that in the short time I've known him , Im gonna do it.

Walking to the bike rack I start to unlock it when Nathan lets out a soft chuckle . " What ?" I say looking up at him. " Nothing your bike is cute , I like the basket " he says with a smirk . I playfully rolls my eyes at him. " Ok where is this truck of yours so we can get going? Lead the way" . I say with a giggle. As we are walking to the truck Nathan makes small talk about how excited he is to go to the arcade because he hadn't been in awhile and was shocked to learn I had never been.

He grabs my bike from my hands and lifts it to the back of the truck and walks around to open my door for me. I smile at him in thanks and watch him run over to hop in the drivers seat. I take out my phone to text my dad I was going to be out with a friend and Id be home in a bit . To my surprise he replied back to have fun and not to stay out too late.

" So Addy what kind of music do you like ?" Nathan turns to me as we drive off. " Well honestly I listen to anything. I enjoy anything. I really love sad music I find lots of comfort in it what about you?" I say. " Sad music huh ? So like you listen to lots of Taylor Swift " he says in a teasing way. I let out a small laugh. " Well yes but no not just her. I listen to her and other people, here why don't we go through my playlist. " I open my phone to my music and start scrolling and settle on Sunsetz by Cigarettes After Sex. " Wait let's hook your phone to the bluetooth , I want to listen to the music that makes sweet Addy feel better". I blush a bit at his comment but choose to ignore it at the same time. We drive in silence letting my playlist play on our short trip to the arcade.

After about fifteen minuets we pull into the arcade and Nathan parks the truck looking over at me. He stays quiet for a second just staring into my eyes . "So what did you think about the songs?" I ask him. " I really liked them . Honestly. I'm gonna have to download all their songs. You have any other recommendations?" I nod at him " Well yes of course I can share my playlist with you, the only thing is if I do so , you're gonna know how sad and twisty I am" I wiggle my eyebrows with a soft giggle. " Well then I accept the challenge of knowing how sad and twisty you are." He turns off the truck before hopping out and running to open my door.

" You know I am perfectly capable of opening my own door right?" I tell him. " I know" he tells me with a smirk. Those damn dimples. I shake my head and follow him inside the building. I look around and smile at how old fashioned it is . All the machines are lined up on wall with a hockey machine and pool table in the middle. Towards the back wall there is a concession stand and small tables to sit down to eat. " Wow this is so cool " I say looking over at Nathan who is smiling at me.

" So Addy what do you want to do first? " " I have no idea there is so much to choose from why don't you pick ?" I say. He smirks and grabs my hand and leads the way to a game of Dig Dug. Said it was his favorite game and nobody could beat his high score. We soon found out that I was really good at the game and got very competitive and beat his high score . As the evening went on we bounced from game to game making jokes about who would win or lose. I won some he won most. I was having so much fun. Who would have thought the guy I met in class just yesterday would get along so well with me. I let out a giggle as I watched him try to win a stuffed monkey from the machine. I smiled as he moved his hand with carefulness with his tongue slightly sticking out of his mouth in concentration. He is so determined to win this damn monkey. Its taken him three try's before the claw finally latched on completely. " Aha take that stupid machine" he said which made me laugh.
