That hurt like a buttcheek on a stick. But one of the benefits of being made of Aloe Vera is that you can be stabbed and at least be kinda ok. The hard part is ripping off enough of my uniform to get out of this. I need to hurry, though, because this is looking bad. Suddenly, I hear a scream of rage and see Frank fling himself at silver. WHY? It looks like he's lost it because he is muttering as fists are flying, and Silver is barely able to defend himself and black the blows. Frank is on top of him now, just... wow.
"Go! Nows our chance!" I call out to my teammates, and they all move forward cautiously. Holy heck, just GO! I finally manage to rip the side of my uniform away and slide off the spike. If it had been anyone else.... I don't want to think about it, but I can see what happens when Silver goes after most people all around me. I can smell the metallic sent of blood in the air and shake my head. If I don't stop Silver, then they all die for nothing. They're gone, and we can mourn later. But now is not the time. I step forward and hear a little splash.
The water from outside must have gotten through the dipping staircases meant to block just that. That means the halls behind us are flooded. There may be nobody getting out of here. Ironically, Silver is probably the only one who could save us from the flood. I doubt he will. Another scream pulls me back to the present, and I see Silver grabbing Franks' upper leg and then his neck. Frank is screaming bloody mary, and it's not hard to see why. Ice is moving up his leg and down it, then spreading from his neck. A dome forms around the two of them, like a sinister snow globe. Of evil.
Silver whispers something to frank before throwing him down to the ground. Franks entire body is covered in frost. I remember the pictures from jake and gulp down the fact that this isn't the first time this has happened. Splashing behind me causes me to turn and face the door. More agents are here, wet and cold, but here. We need all the help we can get.
Silver is fighting again but defensively. Not nearly as reckless this time, more controlled and less extreme. Then it hits me. He's shutting down. It's not exactly a well-kept secret that silver can't handle the backlash of his own element, and because of this, sometimes he can shut down after becoming too cold or even die. Or so we've been told. I'd like to test that last theory myself. This must be that. Without Frank and his heat, Silver can't fight as well. We don't even have to beat him here. He'll do that for us. we just have to wait it out.
Hang in there, Frank. I think to myself, hoping my thoughts can reach him. It'll be alright.
Oh, how wrong I was.
Super short chapter, I know. Give me 3 days to finish the next?? The end is coming.... college is a pain, and works been tough, and personal stuff has happened, but I promise I'm not abandoning the fic. I also promise it's almost over, so just hang in there, please!
