I once knew a girl,
Who lived in the shadows,
They kept her safe,
Even made her whole,
But what happens when,
A girl of the shadows,
Gets thrown into the light?
Damaging the girl,
But she smiles on anyways,
But what happens when it's too much?
When her fears swallow her whole?
Where have the shadows gone?
She calls out to them, please help me,
She'd say,
But there was no reply,
In the dead of night the girl cried out for them,
But in the world of light,
The shadows would hide,
They feared the light,
For it was too bright,
The little girl felt so much sorrow,
But what would she do?
She smiled through it,
In hopes to push through.
And what might occur if the shadows take her back in?
Perhaps she'd feel safe, much more safe.
Safer in the depths of the world, rather than on the surface, where the lights would swallow her whole.
