In a crowd, I stand alone,
No friends to hold me, No friends to help me,
I fear what the crowds would want, I feel like they look right through me,
I'm always on the outside,
Always peering inside,
Trying to get close, But I fear the people,
I fear what they may want,
I fear they will hurt me,
Not physically,
But mentally, too,
I say to you now,
If you feel this way,
You are not alone,
For I, too, feel this feeling,
Social anxiety is like being muted,
Trying to say something but no sound comes out,
Being talked over,
And I just give up, I just walk away,
I just walk away
