Chapter 23

"You should probably let Scott know too. You know? Just to keep an eye out."
"Yeah, I will." He nodded and went back to class. During lunch time, Rose ponders as her friends talk at one another.

"What about you Rose?" Lydia asks as Rose looks at her.

"What?"
"Have you been listening?"
"Sorry, I was just...nothing. What was it?"
"Are you coming to my house to study? Allison said she can't since her Aunt came into town." Lydia tells her as Rose smiles and nodded.

"Yeah, I'll let my dad know." She tells her and Lydia smiles before continuing her conversation with Jackson and Allison.

Isaac held her hand which made her look at him and smile. Scott frowns as he glares at their hands and Stiles patted his shoulder.

"Scott, can I talk to you." He says and Scott nodded before they left the table as Allison looks at them before back at Isaac and Rose. A smile formed at her lips before turning her attention back to Lydia and Jackson.

Isaac's eyes went towards Scott and Stiles before looking at Rose as he pulls her closer to him. Scott listens to Stiles before glancing towards Isaac and Rose. He felt his blood boiling in anger before walking off.

"Scott!" Stiles shouted as Rose looks over to Stiles who looks back at her and motions for her to follow him. Rose nodded and got up as she runs to follow Scott much to Isaac's dismay.

"Scott!" She runs towards him as Scott stops and turns to her.

"What's wrong?"
"I can't."
"What do you mean you can't?"
"I can't see you with Isaac. You know that I like you, Rose." Scott tells her as Rose stood there and she was right. She knew of his affections towards her, but she also knew that she has to cast it aside to save someone else's life that's more important.

"Scott, yes, I know about that okay. There is something more important-"
"Stiles, told me about an attack that's gonna happen at prom." He tells her as she sighs and nodded her head.

"Yeah, and we have to keep a look out on who it would be. For all we know, it could be anyone in this school and god knows, whoever it is, is in deep danger." He nods his head and sighs softly.

"Yeah."
"Then, after this is all over. We'll talk." She smiles towards him as he looks at her and nodded smiling back.

"Okay." He sighs nodding his head despite wanting to talk it out now. He watches her walk away before walking back to him and giving him a kiss on the cheek, before running back to the cafeteria unbeknownst to them, Isaac watched and heard the whole conversation as he frowns and growls angrily.

At the end of school, Scott and Stiles went to practice as Isaac did the same after joining lacrosse. Rose was left to stuff her things in her locker before closing it as Derek appeared next to her.

"Derek? What are you doing here?"
"We need to talk."
"But-"
"Rose! Come on!" Lydia waves as Allison waited with them.

"I'll be there!" Rose shouted as the two left to watch the practice before turning her attention towards Derek.

"Aren't you a little too old for high school?"
"I'm only couple of years older."
"How old are you?" Rose ask jokingly as he rolls his eyes at her making her giggle.

"What do you wanna talk about Derek?"
"You."
"What about me?"
"Why are the supernaturals after you?"
"I think that information is quite classified." She turns to walk away from him only for Derek to follow her.

"You are human, Rose. Not a vampire or a werewolf, but something about you is special." Derek tells her and grabs her arm turning her around.

"I don't know what it is, but it's attracting every supernatural being here." He says and before Rose could speak, a voice spoke up.

"Hey! Let her go!" They turn to see Coach making his way towards them as Derek lets her go.

"This is a school property and we don't tolerate harassment, Hale!" Coach glares at him as he blocks Rose and Derek backs away a bit, but sizing him up.

"Uh, Coach. It's fine. We were just talking about a surprise party for my aunt's birthday." Rose lied as Coach looked at her before back at Derek.

"Fine, just...hands to yourself, Hale. Tell your aunt happy birthday."
"Will do." Rose smiles watching him leave before sighing and turning to look at Derek who was staring at her.

"What?"
"Nothing. Didn't think you'd stick your neck out for me."
"I wasn't, I just don't want my family getting called again." She grumbles and walks towards practice as Derek follows her.

"Just tell me what it is that's about you."
"Why do you wanna know so badly?"
"Because I feel it too. Whatever it is, it's radiating around you and I can't stay away from you despite my hardest."
"Maybe you should do some research on that, Hale." She rolls her eyes as she walks and sat down on the bleachers and Derek sighs before sitting with her not noticing the three boys who saw them.

"What the hell is Derek doing with Rose?" Stiles ask Scott who was listening intently to their conversation as well as Isaac.

"Look, I can help you."
"Really? And what help would that be?"
"Because whatever is happening right now is attracting the werewolf thats terrorizing the town."
"What's the plan."
"Tonight at school, you'll lure the werewolf here-"
"Woah, woah, me? You're using ME as bait to your plan?"
"Do you have a better idea?"
"That doesn't cost my life! I don't know about you, but I would rather live." She glares at him before watching practice.

"We need to kill this thing. It may save you and your friends and BOYfriends." He says as she gave him a really look before looking away.

"What do you know about this werewolf."
"Its an Alpha. An Alpha also needs a pack and he already has two."
"Isaac and Scott."
"Yeah, I'm planning on getting them here too and have them call him."
"Like what? Call the Alpha's phone?" Derek looks at her with a serious look as she rolls her eyes.

"Dry sense of humor much?"
"Are you in or what? The only way for those two to help is when you're in. What about my family? What are you gonna tell them? Hm?"
"Knowing your family, we can't involve them in this plan. If the werewolf smells the dead, then it knows our plan and won't come to us." He tells her as she sighs and tries to think it through. She then thought of the vision she had as she stares at one spot. She might be able to prevent this from happening if they go through this.

"Fine, I'm in." He grins and pats her back before leaving as she groans and massages her shoulder. She watches him leave before turning her attention towards the three as they were staring at her for a moment before the Coach blew the whistle gaining their attention.

Knowing full well that Isaac and Scott were listening to their conversation and Scott relaying it to Stiles about the plan. They will also join in on it.
