No matter how many dreams I have I'm still never ready to see them. I often find myself dreading the time I spend asleep because I know what will happen if I do. However, no matter the amount of caffeine I consume, sleep always seems to find me.
Waking up to my alarm this morning still sweating and shaking from the dream. I turn off the alarm nonetheless and stand up on my wobbly legs. As I make my way down the hallway to the bathroom I let out a sigh. I hope that the shower might shake my mind off the haunting dream.

Turning on the shower once in the bathroom, I lazily strip my clothing off and brush my teeth before settling into the shower. For awhile I stand with my face towards the shower head, welcoming the hot water like an old friend. Though after a few minutes of this I begin washing my hair and scrubbing my body clean.

After I rinse off, I wrap my long hair in a towel and wrap another one around my body. Picking up my dirty clothes I make my way back to my room.

Tossing my clothes in my laundry bin, I slip on my undergarments along with some dark skinny jeans, a red singlet and a white shirt that has red roses and vines covering it. Picking up the towel from the floor I toss it with my laundry.

Unplugging my phone from the wall I check the time while I turn on my music, 6:37am it read in tiny black numbers.

Singing the lyrics softly, I sit at my desk packing up all of my notebooks for school. Eyes glazing over my desk I see the pills that I'm supposed to take every morning and night. I take one out and put it in the little pocket of my backpack.

Yawning, I unravel my hair from the towel and shake it out a little. After brushing it out I let it settle over my back and shoulders, not bothering with it anymore since it will just be a curly mass in a few hours.

Walking over I open a drawer and take out a pair of mismatch rainbow socks, quickly putting them on before slipping my ratty converse on. Tucking my shoes laces inside the shoes I stand up walk down to the kitchen.

Stepping out of my room I hear the shower water turn on and assume its my Aspen. When I get to the kitchen I see my parents sitting at the table eating pancakes.

"Good morning sweetheart, did you sleep well?" Dad says, knowing he meant was did I have one of my 'dreams' again.

No. "Yes, I slept like a baby." I replied forcing a smile.

"Did you take your pill this morning, honey?" Mom said acting nonchalant about it.

No. "Of course, Ma." I replied once again.

"Good, good. Well do you want some pancakes honey?" Mom says.

"No, thanks, I just want some cereal." I respond reaching grabbing a bowl.

Soon after I start eating Aspen comes into the kitchen yawning. Giving me a lazy smile he gives me a half hug- sneakily taking my drink. Giving him a glare I shrug his arm off me and make myself another drink.

Laughing at me he tells me how I look about as vicious as a kitten. Turning around I punch him in the arm and tell him to shut up before I do something to make him; he doesn't. Finishing my bowl of cereal and drink, I make my way back to my room.

Picking up my bag off the floor of my room I grab my books off my desk and shove them in my bag. Grabbing my grey hockey sweatshirt I wrapped it around my waist and slung my bag over one of my shoulder as I grab my skateboard.

Walking out of my room- I walk right back into it. I had already forgot and had to go back to grab my phone, charger, and headphones.

Grabbing the keys off the rack, I rush out the door and toss my backpack, hoodie and board in the back but keep my phone and headphones. "Aspen where'd you put your board?" ask as I walk into the kitchen again.

"Already in the truck" he tells me shoving another mouthful of pancakes in his mouth. I take out my phone, checking the time. 7:05. I lean down to his ear, "Hurry up or I'm leaving you here. I wanna skate a bit before we have school."

With that being said he shoves the last piece of pancake in his mouth, gulping his drink. As he puts his dishes in the sink I say good-bye to mom and dad. I head to the car and start it. About five minutes later Aspen comes out with his bag. Tossing it in the back he immediately goes for the aux cord, hooking it up he puts on some Three Days Grace. We both smile and he cranks the music louder.

A couple songs pass by the time we reach the school. Once we both get out and grab our boards we get a running start and jump on our boards swerving around all the cracks. Going faster I jump a few cribs, then benches. Looking over to see where aspen went I begin to panic when I can't spot him.

As I switch the direction of the bored to chase after him, the asshole pops up and drops down a seven stair drop. I watch as he wobbles a bit indicating he's about to fall when he balances himself last minute. Laughing it off slightly I swerve around him and challenge him to see who can get to the end of the parking lot first.

Mind you- our schools parking lot was pretty big, and cars were starting to file in; mainly the jocks going to their practices.

Swerving around a car I turn to make sure it was okay. Which ended me in getting the wind knocked out of myself by running straight into a car and doing some sort of somersault on the hood. Luckily not hitting my head to hard or rolling off.

I let my back fall back down on the hood for a split second before popping up as the driver jumps out of the car to check if I was okay. I stare at the dude blankly as I circle around the car to grab my board and skate back off towards the truck, Aspen following quickly. We get to the truck, I shove my board in the backseat.

Rushing I sling my hoodie over my head and pull it all the way on grabbing my bag and slinging it over my shoulder. Moving over I let Aspen toss his board in and grab his stuff. I move my hair and throw the hood over my head.

After shutting the door I lock it and we walk into our prison of a high school. We walk in silence for a few moments before Aspen asks, "What the actual hell happened back there?"

I curse in my head, shit. "What are you talking about?" I ask nonchalantly, hoping he'd get the message and drop the subject.

"You know damn well what I am talking about, Jo." Aspen all but hisses at me.

Okay- obviously he is definitely not going to leave this be. "Sheesh Aspen, you make it seem like I got hit by a car, chill."

Aspen looks at me like I've lost my mind. Maybe now isn't the time to joke, or maybe his sense of humor is lost. "Maybe that's because you did get hit by a car!"

"No, I hit a car. There's a slight difference." I say feigning a smile to get him to either smile or dismiss it all together. Preferably both.

Alas, all he did was smirk and say, "I hope you know you're insane."

I grinned back, actually this time and replies, "I'll admit it as soon as you do." Slinging my arm around his shoulder we walk to our first hour. First hour this one being one of the only two we have together.
