The long-anticipated day had finally arrived for Rain. As he answered the phone, he couldn't help but feel a mix of nervous anticipation and excitement. The HR personnel's voice was professional and reassuring as they delivered the news.
HR Personnel: "Hello, is this Mr. Rain Lee, the applicant for the architectural position at SG Architects?"
Rain: "Yes, this is Rain Lee. How can I help you?"
HR Personnel: "I'm pleased to inform you that you've made it to the final interview stage for the architect position at SG Architects. Congratulations!"
Rain's heart raced as he processed the news, a smile breaking across his face.
Rain : "Thank you so much! I can't express how grateful I am for this opportunity. When is the final interview, and could you please provide me with the details?"
HR Personnel: "Of course, Mr. Lee. The final interview is scheduled for next Tuesday at 10 AM. You'll be meeting with our CEO, Mr. Phayu Sermsongwittaya Gates. Please make sure to dress professionally, in a suit, and bring a copy of your portfolio and any relevant documents. The interview will be held at our main office, and here's the address..."
As the HR personnel continued to provide the necessary details, Rain listened attentively, his determination growing stronger with each passing word.
After the call, unable to contain his excitement, Rain let out a joyful scream and immediately called his father. His dad, a dedicated branch manager of a department store near their home, had been a pillar of support in Rain's life. He had witnessed his son's hard work and determination, and Rain's success filled him with pride.
Rain's father answered the phone, his voice filled with warmth and curiosity. "Hey, Rain, what's up?"
Rain couldn't contain his excitement and quickly exclaimed, "Dad, you won't believe it! I made it to the final interview at SG Architects!"
His father's joy and pride were evident as he responded, "That's amazing, Rain! I'm so proud of you. Congratulations, my boy!"
Rain's heart swelled with gratitude, and he replied, "Thank you, Dad. I couldn't have done it without your support and encouragement."
As a gesture of celebration, Rain's father suggested, "You know what, Rain? After I finish work today, I'm going to treat you to a fancy restaurant. It's on me!"
Rain, still in a playful mood, chuckled and replied, "Dad, I appreciate the offer, but you know we can't splurge too much. How about we keep it simple and enjoy some teokbokki and soju, like old times? It's our little tradition, and it'll be a perfect way to celebrate."
His father, understanding and equally content with the idea, said, "You're right, Rain. The best celebrations are the ones shared with family and the food we love. Teokbokki and soju it is, then. We'll have a great time."
Rain, still on the phone with his father, inquired, "Dad, are you planning to work overtime today? If so, I can pick you up from the office."
His dad, appreciating Rain's thoughtfulness, replied, "You know, Rain, I do have some work to finish up, but I'll try to wrap it up as soon as possible. If you're willing to pick me up, that would be great. It'll give us more time to celebrate your success together."
Rain smiled, "let me just remind you Dad, it is for final interview but worry not. I will get the job for sure" he assures him.
"nah, I know you'll get it so it is a celebration tonight" his dad chuckles.
Rain admiring his dad's kind heart and optimistic mind. And as Rain knew that his father's dedication to his job often meant late hours. "No worries, Dad. Just let me know when you're ready, and I'll be there."
