Tuesday came, the day of his final interview, Rain woke up well before his alarm was set to ring. He was a mix of confidence and nervousness, knowing that this was a crucial moment in his career. As he went downstairs to prepare breakfast for himself and his father, he couldn't help but appreciate his dad's unwavering support and unconditional love.
In the kitchen, he noticed his father getting rice into a bowl. Rain was surprised; he had thought he had woken up early, but it seemed his father had risen even earlier. A warm smile crept across Rain's face as he watched his father's dedication to taking care of him.
He didn't want to be a burden, especially knowing how busy his father was, but his father's actions spoke volumes.
"No need to do all this, Dad," Rain began, his gratitude evident in his voice. "You must have been tired last night, and I don't want to make things harder for you."
His father simply smiled and replied, "Rain, I'm just as excited as you are for this day. It's one of the most important days in your life, and I want to make sure you have everything you need. I woke up extra early so you could have a relaxed morning. It's my way of supporting you and letting you know how proud I am of you." Oh how he love his loving father, how on earth he is so lucky and blessed to have a father like him.
Rain's heart swelled with love and gratitude. They sat down for breakfast together, enjoying a quiet meal as father and son.
Afterward, they walked out of the house side by side, ready to face the day together.
Rain arrived at SG Architects earlier than his scheduled interview time, displaying his punctuality and eagerness. He approached the front desk to inform the staff of his presence, and they welcomed him warmly.
After checking in, he was directed to the waiting area where he could prepare himself for the upcoming interview.
As Rain settled into the comfortable waiting area, he took a moment to observe his surroundings. The office exuded an air of sophistication, a testament to the firm's reputation and success. The interior design was tasteful, not overly extravagant, but definitely pleasing to the eyes. The carefully selected furnishings and artwork created a professional and welcoming atmosphere.
While he waited, Rain couldn't help but notice the other individuals in the office. They all seemed to have a certain style and confidence about them, moving briskly through the space as they went about their work. Rain felt a sense of anticipation in the air, knowing that he was in the right place for a significant opportunity in his career.
As Rain sat in the waiting area, a minute passed, and three more final prospects for the job interview arrived. They were notably taller than him, and their polished appearance added to the pressure Rain was beginning to feel. He couldn't help but notice their height and seemingly more put-together outfits, which momentarily weighed on his confidence.
However, Rain reminded himself that his skills and qualifications were the true factors that mattered in this interview. He believed in his abilities and knew that they were the key to securing the job he aspired to. With renewed determination, he held his head high and focused on the opportunity ahead.
In an attempt to break the ice, Rain extended a friendly greeting to the others.
"Good morning, I am Rain. Nice to meet you all"
To his surprise, there was no response from them. It was as if he were invisible, or worse, as if his words had fallen on deaf ears. "ohhh.... sorry.." Rain couldn't help but feel disheartened by their lack of response.
-Well, not my loss. I couldn't careless with y'all b*tches. I'll make sure who got this.- Rain thought . He is kind but if you push his b*tch button be prepared. 'Cause Rain won't back down, rough life taught him so well.
Rain, absorbed in his own thoughts and excitement, hadn't noticed Mr. Chaikamon walk past from the waiting area.
Soon, the secretary in charge of managing the interviews directed the candidates to form a line. She then assigned each candidate a number to determine the order in which they would have their interviews with the CEO. The secretary's stern demeanor and caution about the CEO's temperament didn't faze Rain; he was more focused on his own readiness for the interview.
As the line formed, some of the other applicants began to protest, claiming they had arrived earlier and should go first.
"..b*tches, you'll get your own karma" he whispers, Rain raised an eyebrow at their claims but decided not to engage in any conflict. Instead, he saw it as an opportunity to collect his thoughts and prepare himself more thoroughly.
The secretary was well aware that the other candidates were likely lying about their arrival times, but she simply shook her head, choosing not to challenge them. Instead, she proceeded with the order she had assigned.
One by one, the other three candidates went into the CEO's office for their interviews, but none of them lasted more than two minutes. As they exited the room with disheartened expressions, Rain couldn't help but feel a wave of anxiety wash over him. He wondered what questions the CEO had asked and why the interviews had been so brief, leaving the other candidates visibly upset. The challenge and pressure of the forthcoming interview with the CEO weighed heavily on Rain's mind.
"It's your turn now" the secretary points at him with a smile.
Rain nods "Okay, Thank you" he inhaled deeply and exhaled before he opened the CEO's door.
Rain had managed to keep his anxiety in check as he entered the CEO's office, but the moment he saw the CEO's recliner chair with the CEO's back turned to him, his heart raced with anticipation. He maintained his composure, introduced himself formally, and stated the purpose of his visit, but the CEO remained focused on Rain's resume.
As Rain began to think about how he would present his skills and qualifications, the CEO suddenly swung his chair around, revealing his face.
The CEO didn't waste time with formalities, immediately asked " Had you ever been to the Gates residence?"
Rain was caught off guard, unsure of how this related to the job he was applying for. He hesitated, trying to recall his father's work and whether he had visited the Gates' residence in the past.
But then, in a sudden spark of memory, Rain's eyes widened, and he gasped in recognition. Without thinking, he blurted out, "You look like the RUDE GIANT MONSTER I remember from when I was a kid." slightly high pitched voice Rain said.
Realizing his bluntness and the fact that he had just referred to the CEO as a "rude giant monster," Rain immediately covered his mouth in shock. It took him a moment to grasp the gravity of his statement. Meanwhile, Mr. Chaikamon, the CEO, sported a grin and responded, "Ohhh... You still remember me."
Rain's boldness and unexpected recognition seemed to have left an impression, and the interview had taken a wholly unexpected turn.
He gulped "I'm sorry..." Rain said awkwardly and scolds himself in his mind. What on earth.
