Noeul's POV
As the clock struck 5 pm, signaling the end of my first day at the job, a wave of excitement and accomplishment washed over me. I couldn't believe I had made it through the day, met new colleagues, and successfully handled the twists and turns of the corporate world. It was truly a memorable experience, one that I couldn't wait to share with my dad.
However, as the office gradually emptied and my coworkers bid their farewells, I found myself staying behind. There was an odd sense of attachment to my newly assigned desk, and I wasn't quite ready to let go of the busy workspace.
I glanced at the clock on my computer screen—it was almost 6:30 pm. The office lights flickered slightly, a subtle reminder that it was time to call it a day. I hesitated, torn between the desire to explore this new environment and the realization that my father was likely waiting at home.
Curiosity got the better of me, and I decided to wait a bit longer. I observed the few remaining colleagues absorbed in their work, exchanging last-minute conversations and laughter. It was a different atmosphere than the morning rush, a more relaxed vibe that I hadn't anticipated.
As minutes passed, I began to appreciate the friendliness among my coworkers. They shared stories, offered advice, and made me feel like I was already part of a community. I couldn't help but smile, grateful for the warm welcome on my first day.
However, as the clock neared 7:00 pm, I realized that it was time to head home. My dad had probably set the table for dinner, and I didn't want to keep him waiting.
As I gathered my belongings to leave, I noticed a small group of my coworkers engaged in a lively conversation near the office entrance. Intrigued, I decided to join them, eager to continue building connections with my new colleagues.
"Hey, Noeul! How was your first day?" one of my coworkers, Jane, greeted me with a warm smile.
"It was amazing! A bit overwhelming, but everyone has been so welcoming," I replied with gusto.
As we chatted about our respective roles and shared stories from the day, I couldn't help but feel happy of the experiences and personalities within the group. Laughter echoed in the corridor, creating a vibrant atmosphere that contrasted with the quiet hum of the office.
Just as our conversation hit its stride, the CEO, Mr. Chaikamon, strolled by. A silence fell over the group as he acknowledged us with a nod. "Good evening, everyone. How's the your day treating you?" he asked, his tone casual but commanding.
"Good evening, sir! It's been great," Jane replied, a hint of awe in her voice. The rest of us chimed in with our own positive sentiments, still processing the fact that the CEO Boss was taking the time to talk with us.
Mr. Chaikamon, known for his reserved demeanor, surprised us by joining the conversation. He asked about our roles, shared a few short story from his early days in the company,
I watched in mild disbelief as Mr. Chaikamon, the CEO, suddenly join into our conversation. The atmosphere shifted, and my coworkers exchanged subtle glances that sent both surprise and admiration. The CEO, however, seemed really interested in our experiences.
"Hey, Noeul, right?" Mr. Chaikamon turned his attention to me, breaking the momentary silence.
was it just me? that in split second Boss smirks at me? or am I just hungry that I'm seeing things.
I nodded, trying my best to keep my composure. "Yes, that's me. Noeul." sheepishly smile at him. The most handsome CEO I have ever seen.
He offered a friendly smile, his presence somehow managing to be both authoritative and approachable. "So, how's your first day been so far?"
his eyes focus on me, that captivating pair of eyes.
I couldn't help but feel a mixture of nerves and excitement. "It's been quite an experience, sir. Everyone's been incredibly welcoming, and I'm learning a lot."
Mr. Chaikamon leaned against the nearby wall, a casual posture that contrasted with his executive demeanor. "Glad to hear that. You know, I started in this company just like you, fresh out of school. It's a journey, and every day is a chance to learn something new."
Damn! he smiled! and he looks more handsome when he does it. urghh.
His words resonated with me, and I found myself opening up about my aspirations and eagerness to contribute to the company. Surprisingly, the CEO seemed genuinely interested, nodding along and offering insights from his own experiences.
As we spoke, the initial intimidation I felt began to fade. Mr. Chaikamon's willingness to engage in a genuine conversation made him seem more like a mentor than the elusive CEO. We discussed everything from the challenges of starting a new job to the importance of maintaining a work-life balance.
I notice the subtle awe in my coworkers' eyes as they interacted with the CEO.
I couldn't help but be amazed at the unexpected turn of events. The CEO, who I initially perceived as a distant figure, had taken the time to connect with me and my coworkers as well.
As we wrapped up our talk, Mr. Chaikamon extended a handshake towards ME?!! me and not the others but me!. "Welcome to the team, Noeul. I look forward to seeing your contributions."
I shook his hand. Yes I did. And boy, that is incredible but I dont want to look like a creep so I manage to be as professional looking as ever. Then he went out before us. My colleagues are awed and teased me for a minute but I know they are just jealous of me shaking Mr. Handsome Giant Monster. Yes, I nicknamed him again today as MR. HANDSOME GIANT MONSTER and not the RUDE GIANT MONSTER. I smiled biting my lips.
I made my way to the exit.
Outside the office, the city lights were beginning to glow against the darkening sky. I couldn't help but feel a sense of pride and accomplishment as I walked away from my workplace. The first day had been a rollercoaster of emotions, but I was eager to return and face whatever challenges lay ahead.
As I stepped into the evening air, I couldn't shake the excitement of the day. I looked forward to sharing my experiences with my dad over dinner.
