San steps out to the balcony of his house in the middle of that quiet night, immediately captivated by the spherical object beaming in the sky. Calmly, he rests his hands on the steel bannister and stares out into the shadowy forest while the conversation between him and Mika Samuels at the lakehouse last week lingers in his mind.
"I know that you see Wooyoung as more than just a mere friend."
San realized how bad he was at suppressing himself. It's not a surprise how Mika got a hang of it so quickly.
"It'll go away on its own. I have no intention of getting in between the two of you." San reassures the taller man. The two of them were standing far from where nobody else could hear their conversation.
"I guess we both understand how hard it is to dig out the sincerity inside of him," Mika mutters, earning a quick glance from the hunter. "Yeah, Wooyoung's a tough cookie alright. You can never imagine the extent of what I did to win his heart before we even got together. Wooyoung shows affection to everyone all the time and what's hard about it is that none of us know if they're real. To this day, Wooyoung has never uttered a proper "I love you" to me."
"Doesn't it frustrate you?"
"He's working it out, I believe that. But sometimes, I wonder if I'm gonna end up being the one he really gives his heart out to. I wonder if there is anyone in this world willing to wait for him if it ain't me."
San breathes in as he looks up at the moon again, reminiscing Wooyoung's face. "I'm willing to wait."
"Who are you talking to?"
His head snaps to the side, facing his grandfather who closes the balcony door with a smile.
"Nothing, I was just thinking."
"About?"
"Wooyoung," San tells him.
"What's with the music boy?" Hyungsik joins him at the bannister. "Did you fight?"
The grandson shakes his head. "You know that I keep a lot more secrets from my parents than from you, right?"
"Spit it out, son."
San's fingers drum on the metal, his eyebrows furrowed just a little. "I have feelings for him."
"Go on." Hyungsik voices out when San took a long pause.
"And he has someone else, but it was hard to see his genuine love so neither of us could tell if it's there. I've been friends with Wooyoung the longest in my life and I never missed a single detail because of how close we were. Now it bothers me that I no longer know him the way I did in high school. He may seem like he hasn't changed but, I can't help but miss him although he's right there. I don't see Wooyoung the same, grandpa. What should I do? It's killing me."
