After the last photograph was taken against a golden and pink sunset sky, Nora and Ren crossed a small platform, where they climbed one set of stairs leading to the wedding reception area. The other set of stairs led down to a sitting area overlooking the pond. Pink flowers of all shades propped up against chairs and cushions, on tent poles and garden tables.
Nora caught a glimpse of the lit up area, as the spring night was fading into a darker shade of blue. The stone outdoor area was lit up with electric based candles, at the tables and in standing candle sticks nearby. Tables covered in pink tablecloths, with lighter pink flowers, some orange and white flowers. The table setting had a plate, cups, and utensils, with a menu laid out in the center of the plate. Most of the tables were divided into teams, with parents or close friends sitting at those tables. Light instrumental romantic music filled the air.
On one side was the buffet, closer to the stone wall for easy access to the outlets. The buffet table was filled with covered dishes of all sizes, the aromas escaping from the slightly closed lids.
On a separate table to the left of the buffet table, stood a simple cake, with macaroons on separate platters.
On the other side, was the wooden based dance floor and where the DJ was set up.
With a nod from Ren, he began to lower the music and picked up his microphone.
"Good evening ladies, gents, and guests of the bride and groom, may I have your attention please!" He began to play an upbeat tune, "Let's give a warm welcome to the new Mr. and Mrs. Ren!"
The guest started applauding and cheering, as Ren and Nora entered the area from the pond side. The two cut across the tables and into the center. Ren spun Nora around, her skirt twirling as she let out a laugh. He drew her in closer with one arm and gave Nora's forehead a soft kiss.
A chorus of "Awws" was heard. Blushing slightly, the two went to the table with two bedazzled pink chairs.
The DJ lowered the volume, and announced into his microphone, "What a sweet and romantic entrance! The buffet is now open."
