Kunimi didn't go to school the next day. His mom didn't questioned why. She just kissed his forehead and left for work. Kunimi was blankly staring at the wall. He can't imagine losing Kageyama. Even thought he was dening it so much in the past, he truly cares for him.
"I have to go see him." he whispered to himslelf and got dressed to leave.
On the way there he saw so many small flowers. He plucked some of them to give Kageyama.
At the hospital he saw the nurse leaving Tobio's room.
"Oh, you're here again." she happily greeted him. She was so happy that the sick boy has someone who cares for him, since no one else came to see him. Not even his family.
Kunimi just nodded and slowly entered the room.
"Tobs..."
"Kunimi?" Kageyama looked at him in shock. "Why are you here? You have school."
"Didn't feel like going today." he sofly explained and sat down on the chair.
"Oh..." Kageyama looked at his lap. But then he saw a bunch of flowers on the white blanket.
"The spring is starting. The first flowers are growing." Kunimi smiled.
The raven started to tear up and smiled happily, holding the flowers in his hands tightly.
"So how have you been doing?" Kunimi rested his palm under his chin.
"Good actually." Kageyama leaned on the pillow. "They told me that I can leave the room today. I can go ouside for a bit." he smiled.
"Oh really? Then let's go." Kunimi stood up.
"Wha-" Kageyama didn't get to finish when Kunimi ran out the room. He went to aske the nurse if he can take Tobio outside for a bit. She did approve and helped Kageyama to get up. She walked with them throuth the hallway and left them at the entre to the hospital. Kunimi helped the boy to sit down on the bench in front of the hospital. They were quietly sitting there and watching the people around. The old couple going for a walk together. The young ones walking in hurry. The kids plaing with a ball. The birds flying through the sky.
"I never thought that something this basic can be this beautiful." Kageyama smiled.
Kunimi looked at his side profile but didn't say anything.
"Why are you coming here to see me? I know how you hate hospitals." Tobio turned his head at him.
"I- How do you know?"
"We went to the same middle school. Even if I look like someone who doesn't care about anything, I always pick on the small things that you and Kindaichi were saying." he smiled.
Kunimi realise how often the boy was smiling. He know that it's the only thing that he can do right now. But still he could see the pain behind that smile.
"I see. I just want to see how you're doing." Kunimi said.
"Okay." somehow the boy was satisfied with that answer. He looked up to the sky. "This is so beautiful." his eyes were watering as he smiled at the word around him.
Kunimi looked at Tobio's face. "Yes, it is..."
