Chapter 7

Few days had passed through the traning camp. Kunimi was now sitting on the bench in the gym of Nekoma high. He wasn't feel like doing anything. He was just texting Kageyama. At least he could feel his warm even if he's not next to him.

Actually the past third and second years were having a reunion, cause they were on their break, so they decides to crush their kohai's traning camp. The atmosphere was so happy, but Kunimi felt like shit. Knowing that every sigle one of them, who personally knew Tobio, didn't know about his condition.

"Kunimi, how are you?" Iwaizumi sat down next to him. He didn't answer him.

"Akira-chan! Hi! Did you miss you senpai?" Oikawa grinned at him as he sat on the other side of the bench next to Iwaizumi.

Kunimi looked at the faces of his upperclassmen. How calm and caring he felt in their presence. And he couldn't do it anymore. He burst out crying.

"God, Kunimi, are you okay?"

"What happened?"

The whole gym got quiet as they stared at the three.

"I- I can't do this anymore." he sobbed in his hands.

"What do you mean." Oikawa was concerned as hugged his shoulders.

"Tobio-"

"Huh? Tobio-chan? What about him?"

"H-he's dying..." he whispered just for Iwaizumi and Oikawa to hear.

"What? Explain please. I don't understand." Iwaizumi was trying to hope that it's nothing bad.

"He has cancer. He's dying." Kunimi said a little bit louder but in that silence, everyone heard him.

"No... please tell me it's a joke." Oikawa slowly stood up as he stared at Kunimi in disbelieve.

"No... it's not a joke." he whispered.

Oikawa's eyes turned red as the tears streamed from his eyes and he covered his mouth. Iwaizumi looked at him in shoock as the tears were formed in his eyes. Everyone in the gym felt like they got stabbed in the back. Even if some of them didn't like him, it was unreal to know that he's leaving this word.

"What..." Sugawara sobbed.

"No..." Hinata pushed past everyone and grabbed Kunimi by his colar. "Tell me that's a lie!"

"It's not. He hasn't much time left." Kunimi whispered in tears.

Hinata slowly released him. "This can't be real! No!" he got to his knees as he cried.

"How- how long have you known about this?" Daichi asked.

"For a month." Kunimi wiped his tears. "He's in the hospital for three months now."

"Why didn't he tell us?" Yamaguchi asked quietly.

"He didn't want to bother you. You don't care about him anyway."

"..."

"I want to go see him." Oikawa said.

"Yeah, forget about the reunion. Let's go to Miyagi." Atsumu said.

"Then we're going too." Hinata said.

The coaches quietly listened to everything. Ukai was so angry at himself that he didn't know about this sooner.

"No."

They all turned to Kunimi.

"I made a promise to him, that I won't tell anyone. But now that everyone know, it would make him stress more when you all come to visit him."

"Then let's make him a video of us. We can go see him seperately and in different times." Sugawara suggested.

And with that every single person in the gym recorded themselfs telling few words to Kageyama, hoping that he'll get better.

Kunimi stared at the video as he hesitated to send it. He looked at Oikawa who was next to him. The older slowly nodded and Kunimi took a deep breath and pressed the send button.
